Memoriam, it was not my intention to be hostile with you. I see that you were only trying to help me so I apologize that my post came off in such a way. I've been a member of this site for over 7 years now, so I'm well aware of how things work here currently and was only trying to suggest a way to streamline this process in a way that would promote more forum activity while making things much easier on the users.
If there was a pinging/notification system in place, users might adjust how they type to incorporate the new system regardless. Or, as Doe has said, there is a way to add auto-pinging for quoting. This is a feature that many other forums already have, so adding it to Kofk can only help the site to grow imo.

@Doe: Well, I see no problem with checking my bookmarks. And I'm pretty active on the forums. However, in my honest opinion writing @username all the time, in every single post will affect the easiness of chatting. Maybe if it would be allow/don't allow feature that you set in your account settings, it would be better.
@TrickyLA: Keep in mind that maybe unlike other sites, Kofk only has 2 admins, of which only one is the coder around here. Aside from his lack of time, I don't know how difficult for him it would be to implement such a feature, if it would be possible to copy a similar feature code that already exists on the site and slightly alter it. It's his decision, I know shit about coding. If you know coding well enough and have an idea how to code such a feature, you can always offer your help to any of them.
I'm just telling you as a very active poster - for now you can only check bookmarks and it doesn't take that much of my time, let alone yours if you're not that active. That's it.
No doubt such a feature would be handy. But there are also more important things that need to be tended to on the site.
As I said already - IF it will be implemented, it will take time.

@memoriam: This is a suggestions thread, I was only trying to suggest a feature that would be very helpful to have on this forum for Firn and Starkad to view and consider. There's really no need for there to be a debate about this, so I'm not sure why it's becoming one?

There is really no point in arguing about this.
I completely understand this usefullness of this feature and I have asked starkad to implement it already years ago. So far he has not found the time or motivation to take care of it, but hopefully he will some day.

TrickyLA only mentioned e-mail notifications. So I reminded about checking the bookmarks. They find it too difficult - alright. In my honest opinion the feature is not "implement it or the forum will die", that's all I'm saying. I support the suggestion tho, it will be easier to follow conversations.

I'm so glad that you've been considering it! I know that you've been worried about forum activity and while I can't speak for everyone I know that I'm personally much more active around places that can notify me immediately when I've been replied to! Hopefully Starkad will find the motivation to implement this feature soon!

Could we please, please, please have smilies for the Forums that match the wearable Mochi and Queen Emoticons for our avatars? 
I just ADORE the facial expressions of the Mochi Emoticons, and would love to use them in my posts!

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but it would be neat to have a little donation center.
I was on Gaia again for a couple of months and I donated a lot of extras I had.
I didn't have to sell them or trade them or anything. Just donate straight away and be done.
It's not something desperately needed, but I think it would be a nice addition.
And maybe it could require a new NPC.
Maybe another NPC design contest.
I'd love for there to be an option to have your username show or have it selected as anonymous.
