There's no need to defend not being in a relationship. As long as you're happy with it, nobody has any right to tell you that there's something wrong with that :) (Not saying you seem particularly defensive about it, but it seems like you try to explain it and I think it's good for people to remember that they don't need to, unless they want.)

River, I think it gets confusing since you refer to him by name, most people just talk about bf or fiancé or whatever, so it's clear who they're talking about. But it also makes it feel less anonymous, so that's kinda nice :)
