I personally like to check and list the item for a lower price, if I really just want to sell the item. So having the current price would still be relevant for me. But that's my personal thing maybe.

But see - that's exactly what I mean. If you want to take the price as a guideline for what you will sell your item for, a price, that doesn't come from an actual sale, but is just a "made up fantasy price", this might only lead to inflation. If you see someone selling the item for 50000 and you want to sell it for less, you might put it in the market for 40000 or 45000. But what if the last time the item was sold was for 1000? It would not only be more fair and acurate, but would also cause less inflation, if you took a price the item was actually sold for as orientation. Then you might put it in the market for 900 instead of 4000.
(I am not sure I am explaining myself well. But I firmly believe that only sales that actually happened serve to determine what an item's value is, not what someone might wish to get for an item.
And apart from the fact that this could lead to more inacurate prices and inflation, since you can always use the normal search fetaure of the market to look up what an item is being currently offered for, all the work that would need to go into this for me and starkad seems kind of not really worth it, since it's already there, just in some other place.)

that probably would cause all you're saying, if people didn't want to consider all the other data they are provided with. I do, but I'm aware most of people would just use that one data of the current price. So yeah, that would be bad...
Though this would still be handy, if we're talking about items that haven't been sold for ages. but that's actually an exception.
You're explaining things fine, Firn XD
What about the most recent sale price?
(is that how the updating data on the market works? it gets updated after an actual sale? that makes more sense, and it was killing me to figure it out xD)

An average would be unnecessary.
If an item has only been sold twice, once at 50,000 and once at 2,000, no one's going to sell it for 26,000, realistically.
And you can see what an item most recently sold for with the graph below and to the right of the item for sale where it says: Today.
You can also see almost all of the other price points the item sold at, on the graph.

I see what you're getting at Firn.
Maybe I was thinking too much in terms of new digging or knuffel items here - items that initially are more expensive but then quickly drop in price as they are found more often.
I was thinking of the case where the last sale was still at a higher price than what people are listing the item as at the point where I want to list it. Then I wouldn't want to list it for much higher than everyone else, both because it might not sell and because I wouldn't want to take too much from someone who maybe only saw my listing and not the cheaper one.
But I guess this is really more the exception, since most items rise in price with time and then your points are far more relevant.
Sorry, my suggestion was maybe not very well thought through.

@Eva: Aw, apparently I'm the only person having slight difficulties reading the graph.... :qoops: It doesn't show the exact prices, just the whereabouts, so maybe that's what I had in mind. Not really sure now :qsweat:

I see where you are coming from, Firn. But I also agree with mem - you cannot clearly see what price the item was last sold at, only around where it is on the graph. Perhaps you could list the price the item was last sold for? Or perhaps allow users to scroll over the graph to see the exact price the lines represent - since, as far as I know, the graph does not actually give exact numbers, just a basic plot between scales. ^^;
Take the Lost Tankui Decanter (Wood), for example. I was looking up the value for this item in the Market Statistics when I requested this feature. This year, the top price was 20,000, where the lowest price was 500 - this is clearly a very wide range. Because of this, the scale on the graph displays 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000, which clearly does not portray a very clear indication of what the actual value of the item is, especially in the lower range. ^^; With how large the scale is, and how small the graph is, it is hard to see what the last item was sold at...
This is ignoring the fact that the Market Statistics graph is still not visible using Chrome. ^^; I brought this up to Starkard about a month ago, but it seems he hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet. (Which I completely understand! You two have been very busy with all of the events, knew knuffels, and new items this month!) But not every device is able to use Firefox. (For example, I am on a Chromebook, which cannot use Firefox, which means the highest and lowest price is the only thing I can go off of...)
Perhaps the solution would be to list the last price the item was sold for? Or perhaps allow the user to view the prices that the lines on the graph represent by scrolling over the graph?

I will ask starkad whether it would be possible to have the price displayed on the graph when hovering over a line with your mouse, so that it would be easier to read. I am not sure how easy/fast that can be implemented though, so no promises here.

If possible I'd love the ability to save a new dream avatar when editing an old one. Currently we only have the option to overwrite the old one or not save the new one at all, as far as I know.
