Happy birthday for Friday :)
I decided to skip ahead to a shorter book in the middle of the Dostoyevsky one I'm reading. It's taking too long and I'm struggling to understand the first section
It's really dense even compared to his other books. It's all subtext and I don't know traditional Russian social customs so I'm really not sure about when people are being rude to each other, they just get offended at one another over something I didn't manage to spot and I'm really confused XD
Anyway, so I'm reading My Sister, The Serial Killer as I heard a lot of good things about it.

Haha yea it might be difficult to understand Russian turn-taking and conversations xD
Rubie, that's a good idea to just start reading no matter what.
I was thinking to put a book in my bath room instead of taking my phone with me xD

I was supposed to take another book to work with me to read it on my way back but I completely forgot to decide which one to read XD I'll take something shorter for sure. This month is pretty tough (and it's already half-way gone!

)

At one point I thought I read into the subtext that this young girl had to be married off as soon as possible because she was actually pregnant by the son of her groom. But it turns out they were just slightly worried that she might fall in love with him, and weddings were kind of supposed to be that fast? I just don't even know what I'm understanding right and what I'm not, in the end I had to go onto a study guide site and read the summary of the first part so I could get it more concrete in my head. There was like a whole town scandal about the fact this one woman walked out of the church ahead of another woman and that was apparently not the done thing XD
Simpler times, crazier times XD

@LittleJulez: That's the only way my mom reads is having a book in the bathroom. lol
I think since my next book is an ebook it should be easier to read I just can't get it started which is why I picked Sunday. I got nothing going on that night so after supper I'll just head up to my reading room and read.

Indeed, this month is a tough one

But then again, for me every month is a tough one when it comes to reading
jacob,
Well, I don't even know how it was like before xD
But it's actually still a thing to marry as fast as possible when one discovers that one is pregnant xD
I sometimes have that with movies, that I have to read up the plot.
Rubie,
nice xD
Do you have a reading room O.O ?
And Happy Birthday

Thanks guys!
@LittleJulez: Yes I do. One of the main reasons I bought my house is for the spare bedrooms XD The rooms are tiny and only two are set up (spare bedroom and my reading room so far). I got bookshelves on both sides and a oversized arm chair in the middle. It's so comfy. and no distractions outside of my dogs lol.
I also only got like 20 pages read yesterday. I was so tired. I ended up going to bed really early because I was so tired (my plan was to read more because as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm usually wide awake). Yeah, so kind of behind on, but as long as I get it done by the end of this month I'll still be on track.

Oh man I want your reading room! It sounds ace.
@mem well, yes, here as well, just not so much of a social problem if you don't XD actually my cousin did that, his bride was heavily pregnant when they married. It was the first time we had met her.
