If it follows previous games, they should be available at least after you get the national dex. c:

I'm so upset! there's a pokemon go beta coming to Australia but you need an iPhone 5 or higher to become a beta tester!! I'm crying!

Hopefully they'll have the game be compatible with more OS versions when it goes live, sorry you can't participate in the beta testing! T.T

It's kinda amazing seeing where Game Freak has been focusing their testing lately. Used to be the US that got everything second due to it being the largest fan base outside of Japan itself, interesting how that's changed.

I agree, it's interesting. I wonder when the US beta testing will start, if it does start.
And I hope my phone is compatible. o-o

If we go by the Japanese testing it'll be Iphone 5 or later and Android Jellybean or later needed, at least for the first wave. Who knows if they'll expand it out from there, or what the deal will be for Blackberry and Windows phones. . .

So, which version of Android is Jellybean?
And why are their updates named after candy?

Jellybean is starting at 4.1.
I don't know why they name it after candy, maybe the developers just like candy? ;)
It's also alphabetical though, so if you know what your version is called, you can tell whether it comes before or after another without converting to numbers.

Somehow I doubt they'll support older versions than this though, seeing that Jellybean actually is quite old now.

Android Jellybean is version 4.2, and it's named after candy because all of Android's versions are named after confectioneries.
In order we've had:
Cupcake
Donut
Eclair
Froyo (frozen yogurt)
Gingerbread
Honeycomb
Ice Cream Sandwich
Jelly Bean
Kit Kat
Lollipop
and the current version: Marshmallow

Apple does the same thing with it's OS versions all named things like Yosemite and Lion.

Those android names are making me hungry. :T But my phone's pretty new so it shouldn't be a problem.
