Kingdom of Knuffel

(sorry about this ><; the weekends are my only open days now..and i've been burned out due to a new job x.x)

Angel smiled at his response, and nodded lightly to the follow up statement. She glanced down at the rose in her lap. "I've had Aqua since she was still just an egg.. to me- she's my baby, no matter how big or powerful she gets. But in the same breath, she looks to me as her child since she ages different and it seems like I'm just a young girl to her." She explained softly as she remembered her mother giving her the unhatched dragon egg as a child.

When Nieve barked, the princess blinked and glanced at the large wolf. She smiled at Dorian once more. "Well, here you don't have to keep it to yourself. Rest easy and enjoy your magic." Angel said to him with a sweet voice.

(( it's fine ^^ you just get around to it, when you have time. Real life is more important, and I understand that.))

Dorian chuckled. "I have been taught from child that I should never show my entire hand, Angel." He said and smiled. "I think it'll take a little more time to get used to being able to show off." He was, however, curious about the whole dragon egg. He leaned closer.

"You've had Aqua your entire life?" He asked. "How did you parents have an egg for you?" He asked. He found it fascinating to hear the customs here. Maybe earning a dragon was their way to show the noble line. Did Summer used to have a dragon as well. Angel had mentioned that the other one had belonged to her brother. It had not seemed that friendly, though.

Angel flushed a little, as she failed to realize the situation she had found herself in. Of course it would take longer for him.. His country, felt differently about magic..

She blushed lightly when he mentioned Aqua and she gingerly ran her fingers through her hair. "Most of me life anyway.." Angel murmured in a soft voice. "My father, the late king..had a dragon as well. I'm not sure how it came to be, but before my time, his dragon had found a mate and she laid eggs within the castle boundries. Two eggs; Aqua and another who didn't live to see the world outside of its egg. Aqua was given to me as a gift of my sixth birthday, but my mother mostly took care of her until I was old enough to understand how fragile another life was, and what it took to care for her myself." Angel explained, her blush darkening when she realized she might've started rambling about things that didn't make since.

Flames was another story entirely.. She had heard that her brother actually went and tamed his dragon for his sixth birthday.

Dorian nodded as Angel explained how she got in the possession of Aqua. An egg, huh? Well, that seemed to be a fair possibility. "What about Flames?" He asked. The other dragon had seemed older, so maybe an egg before Aqua? He smiled a little at her blushes.

He looked cute that way. He wondered what she might be thinking about to make her make that kind of expression. And if he could make her make them again for other reasons.

Angel's smile faded when he asked about Flames, her brother's dragon. She averted her jade eyes for a moment, then she glanced at him, trying to think of a way to explain it without getting herself all worked up- since her brother was now missing.. Angel nodded to herself lightly, and her eyes softened a little. "My brother, Terra, is a little over a year older than me, so naturally I wasn't allowed to join him and our father on their trip for his birthday. All I can remember from that day- is Terra returning to castle with father, on the back of the fire dragon.. He was boasting about how he used the family bloodline to claim him. When in reality, Flames somehow came to reconize my brother as a fitting rider." She explained, praying that the explantion made since. She was young..and didn't really think about much now that she was older.

"Dragons are usually only seem with one rider, but before my brother went missing- he revoked that right and could longer communicate with the fire dragon.. Before he lost that right, he passed his rights down to me so that I could look after Flames. Of course, he could have denied me..but instead accepted me. Flames wants to find my brother as much as I do.." Angel began to speak in a soft voice. If he was going to ask about the family dragons, she figured she could at least explain the whole situation, instead of leaving gaps for more questions. Not that she minded of course, she was happy to share her family heiratige with her fiance.

Dorian looked at her, and wondered if he had asked something too personal. It seemed like asking about her brother was a soft spot for Angel. There was also the desire to look for Terra. He took her hand "I'm sure he'll be out there somewhere, waiting to be found." He said and smiled.

Hopefully, it was the right thing to say. He didn't really know much about comforting a person. He looked back at Nieve, who was running around in the garden, and checking out everything.

Angel smiled at his words, and nodded lightly. "I'm sure of it." She said in a cheerful manner. She blinked a couple of times and glanced at Dorian curiously. "Want to go see if Nick has prepared lunch, my prince?" She asked, tilting her head to the side a little. Now that she thought about, they hadn't eaten since breakfast and wondered if it was lunch time now. Time flew when you weren't starring at four walls and doing chores.

Dorian chuckled when Angel asked if he wanted to check on food. He whistled, calling Nieve back and petted her head. "Let us see if Nick remembered your favorites, Nieve." He said and smiled. Then he turned to Angel. "I'm sure he knows your favorites already, my Princess." He said. "But, maybe he can show me what you like instead."

Angel delicately pushed a strand of her long teal hair back behind her ear as she smiled at the northern prince and his large wolf. It wasn't like she was pretending to like spending time with him, he was a very kind prince with more manners than most of the princes she had dealt with. Angel led Dorian and Neve back to the dinning hall where Nick awaited. "I was beginning to wonder if you were going to eat." Nick greeted the pair, slowly setting down a plate with meat and carrots for Neve, just like he had done so the night before. Then he moved to serve the young royals.

He already knew what to fix for Angel's lunch, so he turned to Dorian. "What can I fix for you, my lord?" He asked curiously, addressing him formally since he didn't know the young prince enough to call him by name. He didn't want to seem rude. Sure, he and royals addressed each other by name and not labels, but he'd been in the castle since Angel's birth.

Dorian smiled and petted the large wolf as she followed him. Once they got into the dining hall, Nieve's head perked up upon seeing Nick walk over with the plate for her. She walked over and sniffed at the food, like last time, before she started eating.

Dorian took his seat, and looked up as Nick addressed him. "Just serve me the same as Angel, Nick." He said and smiled. "No need to go out of your way to make something special to me. I'm not allergic, or picky about food." Also, he wasn't really sure they had all his favorites in this country. He was a long way from home.
