It's been 2 years (if not 3 years) since my last post here but.... I finally got my first tattoo! Still have many ideas and if I could, I would have my next appointment tomorrow. But hey, quality = money. And unfortunately, money is also needed for essential things :(
Anyhow, I now have the fairy tail logo (lining only) on my wrist :) Pretty easy to hide for school and it is reaaaaaly tiny so it was a good starting point since I kinda have a needle fobia ;') The pain was ok, just an annoying feeling. But thinking 'there's a needle' made me freak out a little but too much at the end.
For me a tattoo has to have meaning (well, at least most of them/ your first ones). This logo has a lot of meaning for me (not giving up, giving it all you got, going for the adventures,...).
And same as with AutobotDen, my parents don't approve just like many of my friend. I respect their opinion, you don't have to get a tattoo if you don't like it. But please stop telling me every other day that it's stupid >.<

I have several that are well hidden. I got them so that no matter what I chose as a career, they would not interfere. Just make sure you are sure of what you want and won't regret it later. It hurts more getting them removed than put on.

I have a long wishlist of tattoos but they're so expensive I still don't even have one. Its kind of depressing sometimes but it could be a lot worse!

What do you think about tattoos?
tattoos are a personal choice. there are some good ones out there, and some really bad ones. but i'm not one to tell someone that theirs is cruddy in my opinion xD
Do you have one? Want one? Like how they look on other people?
i have 3, which all need touched up badly. i went to the wrong tattooist for mine and needed fixed by a skilled laborer LOL! i think most tattoos look really good on others.
Do you dislike it? And think people should not have them?
nah, it's their body. they do what they want with it as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.
Do you believe in symbolism and that a wrong symbol on one's skin may have a huge impact on his/her life?
yes and no. i believe people perceive you in a negative light if you choose to tattoo yourself with a wrong symbol(s), thus negatively impacting your life that way. but i don't think there's power in your tattoo.

For those who say it's too expensive:
I have a special bank account for 'fun savings'. I try to put in a bit of money every two weeks (sometimes more, sometimes less) and that's how I save for my tattoo (and trips) ;')
Current goal: earning 2000 euros so I can get them all at once/ around the same time. After I got my first, small one, I wanted to get back to the shop for my next one ;')

I'm okay with them, but I don't think I'd ever get one. I can really appreciate a well-made one in terms of art, though. Some tattoos are absolutely amazing, I use to love watching Tattoo Master or whatever, just to appreciate the designs and color use. Personally, I hate needles. I don't think I'd be able to sit through someone stabbing me that much, especially if something was being injected into my skin. I don't even have my ears pierced. My younger sister is the opposite, she has two large tattoos now and all sorts of piercings, some of which she did herself. I just....... nope. Needles, needles injecting foreign substances into the body, and needles going completely through body parts are just things that make me cringe to think about. My sister would think me ridiculously tame, but eh. /shrugs/
Her tattoos are a large, three legged crow on her thigh [which apparently means something] and a forest scene all around her arm, which was a big thing for her to cover up scars. I can't be upset or judgy with things like that, it was a transitional point for her.

Wow. it's been awhile since I posted here... Since then, I did get the Transformer pinup started, and I also got a blue lotus flower tattooed on my right shoulder in the back. I haven't gotten the calavera tattoos done yet, because I'm still reworking the designs, but I do have a couple of designs for more Transformers pinups, and one that I need to bug the design artist for a progress update on.
I do still want to get the Vesvigir tattooed on my left shoulder, and a few other things tattooed on me in other places, it's just a matter of saving up, and getting the designs "right" in my head.
Since I usually keep covered when I go out, or I don't go out at all during the day, my skin is good for taking ink. I hold onto color well, which is why I went more for colorwork instead of just black and white. I do want to get my first tattoo covered with something with a bit more meaning, but that will be an eventually thing.

I have one of the triforce on my neck.
It is a game I have long loved so it made sense to me.
But not every tattoo has to have a story
