I didn't have AC back in France either, but that was mostly OK, except during heatwaves, but I honestly wouldn't survive in Tokyo without one, but I really don't like it. People die every year because they don't turn it on despite having it.
I'm pretty sure I would die too because I'm very prone to heatstrokes/heat exhaustion.

We just recently had someone local die because they didn't have any. I can't imagine going without it in this heat. I think it was 109-110 degrees outside yesterday.
Looks like you've got it worse than me.
We didn't go that high but my weather app did tell me that it was more or less the temperature we felt, because of the humidity.
