I hate humidity. People always say "Well, Arizona is hotter than Texas!"
Arizona has more of a dry heat and Texas has very humid heat.
Humid heat is way suckier >Bu
Let me check the humidity right now >>

Texas: humidity is at 62% with no rain in forecast.
Arizona: humidity is at 31% with rain in the forecast.

Lool.

Yeah I hate humidity too. It’s the reason why I don’t want to keep windows and doors open during days when it’s hot and humid lol.

Humid heat is a constant for Tokyo summer. It's my 7th year and I still can't deal with it very well. I get heat exhaustion all the time (including inside with the AC on this year) and every year I hope it will not be the year when I get the full-on heat stroke I've been dreading.
I'm used to the signs now though so I should be fine, the first few times were scary.

That being said, you do get used to it a little, there is obviously a point when it's too much but I've been managing better than in my first years. And dealing with dry heat is getting easier too. The human body is amazing.

In the summer my windows and doors are all closed and I keep the AC on dry mode all the time XD

wait you're in Japan, Kuuki? then are you gonna watch the Olympics? I hear that the covid numbers have gone up in the weeks before the Olympics.......^^;; pretty bad, if you ask me.......

I wish my place had AC but the only room with it is my parents room lol.

Hotarla: Sometimes it'll be really bad during the day, but cool at night.
Sometimes I wish I could sleep outside or sleep with my windows open.
Then it's back to hot.
I had to explain to my friend how it can be hot during the day and at night here.
She lives up north and apparently...it's much cooler at night?
It was like 100°F (37.7°C ?) around midnight and she was like "But it's NIGHT!" and I said "Yeah and it's HOT Bu"

Kuuki: I've always wanted to go to Japan, but I've heard summer can be bad there.
If it's similar to Texas, though it won't be a big difference ._.
I've lived here in all my 32 years xD
While it's unpleasant, I'm also used to the heat and humidity.
I hate it, but it's not bad like if someone comes here for a visit or recently moved here.
My parents had a friend who moved here and couldn't stand it so she had to move back.

@Hotarla: Don't get me started on the Olympics, it might be long and turn into a rant XD
Not going to see the games because there's no spectators allowed. (unless you're a member of the IOC, apparently they get special treatment) (also I didn't manage to get tickets anyway. Which ended up being a good thing XD)
I wanted to at least go and see the flame relay that was supposed to have a section near my house tomorrow but it's been canceled too.
Because yeah, as predicted, the numbers are rising to never-seen before levels (still low compared to other countries but since it's hard and/or expensive to get tested and knowing how Delta spreads, I would bet numbers are a lot higher than what they officially are) so everything that could have been fun about the Olympics has been canceled. They're still having booths somewhere I heard but since I don't exactly fancy taking the train right now I'm not going for the time being.

As for the vaccine, it's slow but it's going in the right direction. I'm concerned it might be too late though but we'll see.

And I'll close my rant there because otherwise I'm still here tomorrow. The TLDR is: yup, the Olympics are bad, in more ways than you think.
Don't hesitate to ask me to develop anything though because it helps me blow some steam off and it seems like the only people discussing it in English are people living in Japan XD

Moi: You might indeed bear it, I don't think we've ever reached 100°F at night. When I went out before (at 6:30, in the morning), we had 28°C with 81% humidity and I thought I would die. Now at 9:30, my weather app tells me it feels like 38°C outside and there's no way I'm going out anymore XD

And I have indeed considered moving to another part of the country or even go back to France (which is where I come from) for the Summer but it's a hassle XD

Moi: yeah like it cools down during the night here? i mean, it could still be pretty hot sometimes but not as hot as in the day, when the sun is out.

Kuuki: yeah i hear its like a virtual thing...? or was i wrong and they're still gonna perform but without spectators? i dunno.
Yeah I was hearing on the news that it went to an all time high this week, like over 1k people and I'm like "well we're already down to around 100 something in our province per day sooooooo......" And I just got my second dose today so I'm considered fully vaccinated. Whoo. Now to be numb for a few days lol.
We've been getting 28 and up C temps as well here. And yeah, I can't bear it lol. and when its one of those just rained days, the humidity just goes up and i'm just UGH.
sucks they cancelled the torch event, that's like.......a pretty big thing lol.
