It's a 50/50 for me. I take comfort in what I know but I'm also open to try new things.
When it comes to new things there are so many factors influencing my decision it's impossible to treat it as a "yes or no" kind of thing.
For example:
- I like games, but I'm not great with platformers - I'm unlikely to try out that new skill based game that's coming out (similarity to something I know)
- I'm travelling, local dishes use some of the ingredients I know I don't like - I'll still give it a try, it might be my only chance to do so (scarcity)

increases it a little bit, but really it depends on what it is. i like trying new things because old things get boring.

I would rather do something I have done before than something I have never done before. I don't like failure. I know a failure is supposed to be taken as a learning experience, but I can't help but beat myself up over failing, ergo, I'm afraid to try new things.

I think it increases its appeal for me, well it depends on what it is, but if its something I'm interested in and I havent done I am more likely to attempt it.

It depends, if it’s something crafty that seems fun it’s more exciting. Or like going to an amusement park or traveling. If it’s something like zip lining or psychical it’s a little less appealing because I don’t know how my body will handle it
