Yeah.... I might collect books now, but I don't think I could bear to in a post-apocalyptic world. It would be too depressing.

Why is it whenever I hear post-apocalyptic I think of zombies??? Too many movies, clearly.

And I'd be dead, because I wouldn't survive past whatever happened. I know myself, thanks.

And if I somehow did.... Well, let's just say I would be fiercely possessive of surviving loved ones and things, and you wouldn't wanna cross me. :/

(If I think any further of post-apocalyptic, past my knee-jerk zombies I mean, I imagine the collapse of society and everything you have ever known, and large stretches of deserts and little to no water at hand. I picture a heart-breaking loss of plant-life and greenery and all that's left is tones of beige and browns, and the taste of ashes in your mouth. Oof, no thanks.)

I'll be honest, I'm mostly predicating my survival on the notion that I'm not in any kind of a large enough place to be on a likely target list. We don't have any sort of valuable resources nearby to entice many people this way, and I suspect it would be easier to live in a less-populated area.

I'm not violent or vicious or even particularly ruthless, so that makes my survival less likely. But I am quite pragmatic, and pretty practical, and I'm perfectly willing to get dirty doing necessary things like hauling corpses away from water sources, so there's a decent chance I'd be useful enough to keep around, anyhow. I'd never end up a protagonist in any kind of post-apocalyptic story. I might be one of those nameless support people in the background, though. Probably about at least an even-odds chance of making it!
