No, it's for all designs. I might use some maybe for some feature in the future which I at this point don't even know of. Maybe I won't - I really cannot tell at this point. I try to get things done one step at a time, which measn I try to focus on things I am working on now and not in maybe a year.

If anything is temporaray, then you'll be notified of it.
All items in the shop at present are permanent. The event items is temporary though, but it is not even in the shop.

Thank you for clearing that up. I must've misunderstood that because people asked when the top 6 was known. Hence I assumed it didn't count for the top 6. I know that you can't look in to the future and try to work on one thing at a time, I appreciate that.

are there hints marked by the question mark when you hover over the names of the items? they don't seem to work for me. I tried clicking the underlined words and it didn't work either
the new feature brings a new layer of interaction with the knuffel. the items that add bonuses are a brilliant idea

edit: the issue solved, I just had to hold the mouse longer

OMG I LOVE THE BONUS ITEMS!!!! I really do love it all!
I'm so excited for new Items too. I was like I WANNA GIVE MY PANDA A JAPANESES ROOM! Like paper walls and stuff. But I can't really do that yet. XD
I'm happy the cost is low. I have SOOOOOOOO many Knuffel! XD
I want to spend all day making rooms for them, But I need to get back to work. lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH FIRN AND STARKAD FOR THE NEW FEATURE!! I love all the work you put into this!
