I am not entirely sure, Paypal is very confusing, but as far as I understood it the "foreign currency translation" fee only gets added when we convert the money to € to have it transfered to our bank account, so the fees should not be distracted when someone from the US pays with €.

Edit: I just looked it up and it is indeed very confusing. There still seem to be some translation fees but it doesn't say anywhere how high they are, it only says that they are "similar" to the foreign currency translation fees from transferring different currencies into € to our bank account, whatever "similar" means... They only mention a fixed "0,35 Euro" fee for foreign currencies in addition the the normal money receiving fees, which always get distracted when we receive donations, so maybe it's worth trying out whether these still get distracted if we get the money in €.

There is a 2.5% fee for conversion.

It's charged in different moments if you've added both currencies to your PayPal account and you have not, but it's the same fee.

* If you only have one currency (for example €):
In the transaction details appears the conversion.
It always includes de the 2.5% fee.

* If you have both currencies (€ and $):
The transaction details would be in $.
When you ask them to convert $ into € they'll charge you a 2.5% fee.

In my humble opinion you should use this option and check from time to time the conversion rate -changes 2 times a day- and make sure to convert it when you get a better rate.

If people from US or any other non-European country pays you in € you won't be charged any fee.
But it may be a bit more confusing for them.

There is always a 0.35€ + 3.4% of the amount received fee.
Even if they payment is totally processed in Euros.

If there is a currency conversion, there is an aditional 2.5%.

Buyers won't be charged anything, no matter the currency.

(I'm not sure if I am clearing it out or making it even messier...)

I have a question.
So if we live in the U.S. and want to switch the currency to Euro's it won't cause any problems on our end correct? I want to help out by switching it, but i just wanted to make sure it will not cause any issues on my end, and hopefully get you more money ^.^

I don't know how to pay using another currency...Does it charge me more if I convert it and pay you? I'm rather new to paypal, and I've never payed using a different currency before. o.0

The one above me pretty much asked the same thing. I'll wait for them to get an answer. xD

Amura - So, when we from the US decide to change currency, it won't cost anymore than normal, or cause any problems? I'm confused, but that sounds good. XD

Ok, so what I got from Amura is that we, the buyers, do not get charged anything for paying in a different currency. So it won't affect us at all... not that it would have affected me anyway, since my currency is NZD and therefore already have to convert to USD.

Ok well, I guess that's fine then. If and when I buy FCs I'll pay in € :'3

I've paid in other currency before on paypal and you don't get charged any extra for it.
