Personally I thought the merman was the better of the first gens. (and I'm not just saying that because I obsess over mermen XP ) He had awesome color theme to him and he was just over all cute. I really do not understand why he was not as popular. But I really do not feel it was because he looked like a topless mermaid. there are a lot of mermaids out there that are just drawn topless. XD
The only real Valid things I could think of is the fact that he was a water type and he was so orange. Reminded me more of a Fire element then water. Maybe people were confused by this. I know some were that way with the 1st gen Air Knuffel. He looked more earth like. Then it could be that people just were not interested in owning that particular merman. Its really hard to just say what people see in things.
Anyway I'm sure there will be a mermaid later on at some point.

The fact that the merman was orange/blue really captured my eye...he is so beautiful...and water type...WATER!!! Fuck yeah, water is the best element ever *_*# I don't understand why he wasn't that popular, but yeah...tastes are different o_o
(but who cares, as long as we got one!!*mwhaha*)
