Went to the zoo today with my daughter. I need to fill out the paper work and she'll be able to volunteer this summer!

Sore, tired, but totatlly enjoyed spending it with my Joslyn.

Update: My kid just put an apple (fruit) sticker on my forehead then walked away.

i haven't gone to a zoo in so long. does HK Ocean World count? XD;; its more an amusement/aquatic animals park......well apart from the pandas. and meerkats because why not. XD

I wish our zoo had pandas. But we do have cheetahs and that makes me happy!

Well pandas are special lol. They’re essentially allowed outside of China as “rentals”. In other words, if China wants them back, you can’t refuse.

We took the kids to the Birmingham zoo last year. First time they'd been to a zoo! Gods, the regrets I have with how much they've been deprived by my ex... The hubster and I focused on giving them memories last year. They also had their first visit to the beach, caves, and technically second trip to the aquarium but last time my daughter wasn't a year old yet and my son was a toddler.

I don't think I've ever seen a panda in person, but the zoo had cute little red pandas there.

i think china considers pandas like.....their national treasure or something. lol

If we latched on to all varmints like that, there would be a lot fewer habitats lost and species going extinct.

i think that's why china has a monopoly on pandas. they want to protect pandas.

I know. I just wish my zoo could "rent" them too. But I know there's some serious rules and protocalls and stuff.

My daughter is such a sassy little smart ass. She was giving me crap about when I said someting about feeling old. So this is the next convo.

Like seriously?! I'm beinging to understand why some animals eat their young. Not just because of starvation, over population or getting rid of a rival's bloodline. Sometimes your young is a smart ass and just needs to be eaten.

Yeah like super serious protocols. I think even the babies that get born belong to China too, regardless of where they were born.
