Ooh, at some point I want to learn cartomancy too.

I love how the Dreaming Way is like another world and culture. It takes inspiration from existing cultures but then puts them together into a world that's so whimsical and otherworldly.

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

There is a lot of applicable crossover between tarot and playing cards, you should be able to pick it up with little difficulty. The best resource I ever came across for tarot or playing cards was Auntie Tarot (RIP). Her main blog on the tarot itself is now looked after by a good friend of hers, and the two of them are such a wealth of knowledge on the cards and history.

Bless the modern era's availability of so much art and creativity. There's a lot of bad out there, but our ability to connect and share such wonderful things makes it a good time to be alive. :qh:

Oh, this is so true and so lovely. A reminder I needed. I want to put it in my signature!

Thank you for linking those resources! I'll keep those bookmarked for when I start learning cartomancy. I would be happy to share some of my favourite tarot resources too. Let me know if you'd be interested in that!

It's been ages since I got to study, but I'm an unrepentant magpie who loves collecting shiny things. You are welcome to share links. ^.^

So there's a blog by Mary K. Greer - LINK! It's so rich with information and interpretation. I love it! :mclove:

And there's a podcast I'm going to try called Call Your Coven

Ack, I forgot about her! I really enjoyed her stuff when I was first starting out.

I'm not much of a podcast or radio person, sadly, but they are an invaluable resource for audio learners. I wish Amanda Goldston still had LearnTarotOnline.com up and running, she had a lot of in-depth videos and a nice voice. Now she only has a few short videos left on her YouTube of her, um, business coach career. I learned a good bit from her in the beginning. Biddy Tarot was another I relied on and she has a lot of good information, but she always felt kind of... empty? to me.

Yeah Biddy Tarot has a lot of info but doesn't vibe for me. Have you seen Little Red Tarot's learning resources? I like those better.

I also love Kelly-Ann Maddox's YouTube channel. Lots of great information.

Oo, I hadn't, but I've got it bookmarked now. Initial impressions are that I really like how they did a summer/fruity/tropical colour scheme to the site. Most tarot resources I find tend to be a little more cosmic and baubley. (Being a corvid at heart, I like that style too.) I love all the different decks displayed too.

Do you strictly follow card orders? When I have limited space, I usually do a straight line or block because I'm not sure if it gives any extra potency. But, as far as being visually pleasing, my favourite style is the clock / ferriswheel layout.

I don't really do spreads or placements! Just lay them out anyhow. And sometimes I keep it even simpler and do one card per question plus clarification if I need it.

Some of my more amusing memories with cards is with a clarification reading. I'll pull a card that I simply don't understand during a reading, so I'll shuffle a few times afterward, re-draw a card for clarification for what that card was supposed to mean, and get that card all over again. It's happened half the times I've asked for clarification. XD
