I think my foster parents helped pay for a lot of the clothes and shoes that I had when I was growing up. We all kept in contact with them even after my mom got me back from children services.
But you know.. growing up poor isn't so bad, yanno? Sure it's hard, but at least I know that money is valuable and very much needed in life.
Rent first, then Bills, then cats, then shove some aside for emergencies, then the rest is for me to spend on myself. >:D
When I was little, the state of my grandparent's home was so bad that when CPS was called they almost took me from my mom who was very young when she had me. She explained to them that she knew it wasn't a lot and that it wasn't great but it was better than me being at my fathers house because he was running an...
operation. CPS left her alone after that. There were a lot of situations that caused my mom to experience homing hardships. This doesn't have to do with anything but once we had a hurricane type instance with a cat one when I was little, but the house was so unstable that I watched the weather push the walls in on my grandparent's trailer home. We got in the car to go to my great grandma's and the car stopped working well so we parked it and ran the rest of the way. It wasn't very far but that memory is like imprinted on me forever.
