I guess it is as it is with humans.
There are humans that kill for fun. Why shouldn't there be animals that do so?
It's not ALL of them after all, right?

There are gay penguins as well.
Stuff that some people describe as abnormal is seen with animals as well.
(Also, gay penguins tend to save abandoned baby penguins!!!)
There are always people (and animals) that do things that one would not consider "normal". And I don't see a problem as long as nobody has to die a meaningless death or suffer for it.

I guess in some way, animals ARE better people than people xD
Most animals that aren't good learned from humans. Like dogs.
Also, people that get hurt by animals, normally did something wrong. Like petted them in a wrong spot or kicked them or stuff like that.

But the "killing for fun"-gene seems to be in most species that eat meat or fish. Don't think a cow would kill for fun
The only thing is how to avoid all the possible triggers for those that have the gene.

That's what I don't get with humans. Gay couples can be like gay penguins and give kids that have been abandoned a good home. But they still have to go through so much to adopt a child. Much more than a "normal" couple...

Absolutely. I also tend to tell people to leave bees and wasps alone or they will sting, but they still try to slap them...

limi: while i could definitely imagine a cow killing a bear, i like to see cows as more of a peaceful, piano loving creature.
