Also, to all those who prefer to sleep over everything else:
I had that as well. As teen, I slept super long. And when I was studying, there was a time when I could sleep 12 hours a day. And then my doctor found out I had Iron deficieny. I got iron pills and half a year later, I only needed like 6 hours a night and I never again fell asleep during lectures :‘)

I just started taking iron pills. I wonder if it will help my energy!

I wish I had an iron deficiency. That sounds so easy to fix XD Unfortunately I always had iron checks because I'm a vegetarian and before it became as widespread as it is now, doctors would always say that a veggie diet didn't give you enough iron. Then they would get super confused because I had more than a healthy amount XD

There are things in a vegetarian or even vegan diet that still help because they contain iron. Things like lentils. But one needs to eat things like that on a regular basis.

Of course, it's totally easy to stay healthy if you know what you are eating. Doctors back then just assumed that everyone was unhealthy. Or even worse, I think some of them were misinformed that there was no possible way for a vegetarian to be healthy.

Some doctors are still thinking that all vegetarians are living unhealthy...
But even though some vegetarians do and some don't, I still think that an iron check is always a good idea. Especially for women, no matter if they are vegetarian or not. A vegetarian can have a perfect iron level, but a "normal" eater can also have a terrible iron level.

Exactly. It's important to know what kind of nutrients are in the food you eat (or to get supplements if you need them). It's more down to whether you pay attention to nutrition that will determine if you're healthy, rather than if you follow a specific dietary restriction. After all, if you eat 'everything', that includes plenty of fats and sugars and other things you're not supposed to have too much of.

I am also a vegetarian, have been for over 15 years so I know for me, my iron deficiency does have something to do with that as I am not the healthiest vegetarian in the world. :mcheh:

Like, would you do it for fairy coins? Or food points?
