Back on the bun conversation - I recommend doing buns with hairsticks (or a pencil, works just as well), not with pins or ties. It's faster, easier (once you know how to do it), holds up better and is more comfortable.

I like hair styles I can put a hat over; it's harder to do that with sticks/pencils in the bun. So I'll stick with my pins. They work pretty well anyhow, and the twirly/screw pin styles are particularly good at locking hair in place. They don't stay smooth for me, but they do stay up.
I like some of her bun styles, though; I might play around with them, with different fasteners!

Akili, I guess you don't like your ear piercings anymore?
I did a similar thing :D I already had 4, but added another 3 when I was abroad. One helix and additional two near the lobe, one on each side. Now I've got seven :)
Heh, I didn't like my ear piercings from about the week after I got them. I just kept grimly thinking I'd adjust and learn to like them, for the first year or so. Then decided, nope, not fooling anyone, and stopped wearing earrings at all.
You, though - you sound like you are definitely having fun with pierced ears! Do you have enough that you can wear those sort of cascading ear decorations? With the little delicate chains between them?
