Neither, really, it's just an explanation. Means you'll probably have that black spot there for a while (at least for me it usually took a while until the body managed to clean up all the blood), but it's not coming out and messing up your place right now, so that's good. Not sure if the bubble could burst if you step on it?

If it's not bubbling up you're probably safe. Otherwise I would put on a thick crappy sock just in case it busts.

Yeah, then it's probably deep under your skin, kind of just like an intense bruise.

That does look painful!
It might be sore to walk on for a while; if you have some moleskin I would use it. Give your poor foot a little help.

Ouch, that does indeed look painful!
But yeah, not like it's going to bleed.

Moleskin is something that's often used when you have blisters; it's a bit like those pads you stick on the bottoms of furniture legs if you have wooden floors, only it's designed for people, so it's much softer.
You cut out a hole where your blister is (or where your bruise is, in your case), and you put the moleskin on AROUND the blister (or injury).
Not over it; it goes to the sides and above and below it.

Then when you walk, the pads mean that your walking puts pressure on the healthy tissue around your injury instead of putting pressure directly on your injury.

Which gives your poor bruise a little break, so your body can heal it up faster.

You see it a lot in camping stores or wherever hikers hang out, and at drugstores and pharmacies and sometimes in the larger grocery or general stores. Our local hardware store carries it, too.

Hm, I just did a quick search for it online; apparently you can get it from ordering it online, too! I guess that makes sense. Most non-perishable goods seem to be available from online shopping, these days.

It feels a little like felt, but softer, and it comes in different thicknesses. If you get one that's too thin and doesn't pad your injury properly you can just layer it.
