Wow, that's not much time. I feel like if you bought it new when it came out, 50 or 60 years ago, you should be able to take it wherever you want.... 50 or 60 years isn't even a full lifetime!

exactly, that's ridiculous :mcangry:
of course the books went to family. but I'm not even sure I'm happy about that. I watched my cousin choose books from a series about philosophy and was furious that he didn't take all the volumes and didn't leave them for someone else to take but picked what he wanted. it should be none of my business since I wasn't going to keep them anyway but it broke my heart for some reason.

That does sound frustrating, he should have been more considerate.

I was going to do some "different" reading next like working on my magazine pile, but I realised how long it is to the end of the year. It's not like I'll be able to avoid books for two and a half months XD so I'll just keep reading I guess.

There really isn't anything to say going over a challenge is a bad notion! Why limit yourself? Just read what you feel drawn to.

yep, I think so too. you can read from the pile however much you want, then pick up a book or two. do what you feel like

The others are right, it's even better if you go over the amount of books you originally wanted to read :)

I am super tired right now, but I need to work on my paper again.

I think book shelves are full super fast because people usually buy them after realising that their old ones are already too full (maybe even second layer of books), so the books which are in the old shelves go to the new one. So they are filled with books again. My theory.

Alice, I feel you. Even though I was still a child when we left for Germany I know that my parents had to leave many books behind. We still have many real books, but my parents switched to e-books by now.

I am reading, but only for university. Sometimes I manage to read around 10 pages of HP 2 per day. At least I am trying :qhehe:

I get super competitive with myself, so now my reasoning is "if I read more books this year, it means less books for next year's challenge" XD

Which I realise is stupid because I have probably more than 52 ebooks alone waiting to be read. So I'll shut myself up and keep reading :D

I started reading a business book about how women can succeed more in the workplace. I read about a page and got really depressed by it. I'm working so hard right now and seeing so many stumbling blocks that it really didn't make me feel good to read this stuff. I'll try again later and see if it was just a poor mood that I was in.
