I enjoy the relationships between the characters, the surprising strength of some characters, the energy from Gon and Killua is adorable and sucks you in. Hisoka is my favorite character and one of my favorite anime characters of all time.
I know what you mean; it's a captivating series.

They are~ I think all of them suit each other because they're all comedy duos XD I'm debating whether I should start reading hxh manga or actually do something productive today ~.~
Ah, I see. Well, comedy is entertaining.
I would definitely recommend the HxH manga. If the beginning's too tough for you to go through, just start where they left off in the anime. That's what I did during the end of the original anime --I started where they left off, then went and read it again from the beginning.

Those are some good selections. Togashi creates some powerful female characters, and while it was a shame that there are so few of them, I'm glad that that seemed to change as the story progressed.

Part of Hisoka's charm is how deceptive he is. Certain aspects of him are very straightforward (his lust, bloodlust, general desires, motivation to a degree...), but even so, he enjoys playing games to the degree that would have you question what you know about him. He can be changeable, and I don't think it'd be far-fetched for me to think that he would contradict himself at times just to throw you off or mess with you. He seems to enjoy provoking people, yet his charisma, playful nature, and confidence makes him an attractive character.
The scary thing about Illumi is that you're screwed if you hold his interest in any form. If you're a target, he'll kill you. If you're someone he loves, he'll manipulate the hell out of you, using your own fears in a way that will force you to bend to his will.
Illumi and Hisoka are so twisted in different ways, but are portrayed as both being confident, intelligent (or cunning), and (generally) collected individuals. I really like the fact that they are able to form the alliance that they have, even if they aren't above manipulating or betraying each other.
