Thank you guys. I got that onesie and a few others for Alan to have something to open at the baby shower. He was pretty surprised and didn't expect it at all. It was adorable.

She can get fussy but I swear I have so much patience for her - she's this tiny little person and she has so little ways to communicate how on earth could you lose your patience with someone like that? I'm just so proud of her. She's starting to hold her head up for 30-45 seconds at a time which is kinda crazy, super young for her to be doing it but we do tummy time with her and little things that make her work to strenghten her neck muscles.

Looks like breastfeeding isn't going to be something I can do. I spent the last three days waking up every three hours to use my breast pump and I should have seen my supply increase but I think it's all but dried up. I felt sad at first but it's okay. This way daddy can feed her too and really it works better, we both get more sleep if I don't breast feed. Life will work out.

@Raine - it's so good for your mind to get out and do stuff like that not to mention it sounds beautiful.

Well, some people get very frustrated because the baby can't communicate any other way So I think you can be proud of yourself, you're made to be a mom

And thank you The pain went away after a while, but it lasted way too long and my left arm was slightly numb which was worrysome But I'm fine, I tried not to get nervous, but I can't help it most of the time.

I suppose you're right - everyone's different in their tolerance for frustration. I just can't look at her and ever feel anything but joy and hope that she's not struggling too much. I mean it's gotta be so hard to figure out how to breath and eat differently than she ever has and with no vocabulary? I could go on and on but yanno!

I was a little sad about the not breastfeeding but I just want what's best for her.

Tummy time is when you put them on their bellies for a short period of time and play with them to help them build strength in their necks and such.

I'm glad you're feeling better - nerves can be hard to control. Did you figure out why your arm was numb??

Well, you know how convenient it is to use vocabulary, so you can't imagine how hard it is. For her it's probably not such a problem, she just does what she's able to do Whine, grunt, flail limbs about And cryyyy LOL

It was just numb-ish, like weaker than the other one. But I couldn't figure out why it hurt.

And she is okay! She's pretty great!

I have to drive her for a check up today - first time driving alone with her and i'm pretty nervous. She has to be in the backseat, out of reach and the drive is 45 minutes one way. I plan to leave a little early so I can make lots of unnecessary stops to make sure she's alright - lol. She also has a photo session today to get some newborn pictures. I hope I can get her nice and sleepy for the lady so we get some great shots.

Alan and I tried to get shots ourselves but we just can't get the lighting right even with special equipment and a 300$ camera! I think it's just that we can't get good natural light and I feel like time is running out on her newbornness.

Numb is no fun - it's so strange when things are numb. I've had a spot on my upper right leg that's been numb for almost a year now. It's from when Alan was giving me shots to prepare myself for egg harvest / implementation - the shots were in my back, two times a day - he was bound to hit a nerve and he did. It's less numb than it was and will eventually go back to normal it's just taking forever. My c-section incision is healing pretty good but the skin above, the bit of stretched tummy skin I have? I have the strangest numb and bruised at the same time feeling. How strange!

Alan went back to work today. I am so thankful he was able to be home with us for two weeks. I actually caught up on sleep pretty good and I was able to heal from my surgery too. He's going to have a hard time not being around Eli all day. It'll be easier once we get all moved into our home since he'll be home each day at noon for lunch and to see us.

I would totally make a ton of unnecessary stops as well

How long does the newbornness last? o.O When do you stop being a newborn and what is the next stage? XD (sound slike I'm talking about pokemon, lol)

The house is ours now but we're going to paint and clean it up before we start moving in - we plan to fully live there by the end of the month. Since we live with family we don't have a hard cap on when we have to be out of here but we definitely have fire under our butts to gtfo!

I dunno when newbornness stops - I know that in clothing sizes there's newborn and then it's 0-3 months but 0-3 is bigger than newborn? Confusifying to be sure.

It's not that long but I also can't wait! Alan is going to buy paint today and then thursday will start doing all the painting. He'd start tomorrow but Kira is going in to be fixed and will need to be picked up after work and I can't get her since we only have the one car at the moment.

Anyway - he'll have some long days with working and then going to the house to paint but hopefully it will all work out in the end.

We found a fridge on sale for half price! The owners of the home took the fridge so we had to get one. I'm excited! It's got french doors and the freezer at the bottom.

Eli went to the doctor yesterday and she was good on her weight. Every baby loses weight for the first few days but since I didn't realize my breast milk wasn't in, Eli lost too much weight. They're okay with about 7% loss, Eli lost 10% so we started supplementing formula. Anyway, they wanted her back to 8lb 1oz by yesterday and she weighed in at 8lb 5oz! She's doing so good you guys <3

I imagine, I also can't wait till bf and I can get our own place But it's so far away x.x
