Well, it's still great. Constantly practisting a language is how it sticks around with you. I was fluent in 3 languages before even turning 10, and for the past 9 years I haven't been making much progress since I've been slacking around but oh well. I still have two years in universiry so really hope I can at least learn French in that time so hopefully I won't keep wasting my time.

If the way they teach languages in your country is the same as they do in France, it's going to be difficult.
Even French people cannot speak it properly XD

If you ever need me to, I'll be your conversation partner ;)

They don't really teach languages in an interactive way, or at all. :mcheh: You're better off to learn them by yourself than depend on the teachers. Plus, schools are that bad that you have to go on private language lessons to even learn the basics. Luckily I have someone who's willing to help me with French but been slacking off again with the excuse that I have my exams now.

Haha, I will give you a poke if needed!
I actually spent a month working on the accent first as it's different from what I'm used to.

i already have too much to do and not enough time, but i'm learning the korean alphabet. i agree with kuuki that it helps a lot to make it a part of daily life. but i have absolutely no one i can practice conversation with.
i'm going to practice by writing kpop lyrics and watching kdramas and idol shows, and hope i can improve at a steady enough pace that way.

also, how do i participate in the underwater avi task? just change my avi or do i need to post when i began wearing the avi and until when i have to keep it on or smth?

Same in many places it seems. Learning languages at school is more depressing than anything else.
Aha the accent is awfully hard to master for foreigners, I have a teacher who recommended to sing along songs you like. He was always saying that at least when we were singing we were speaking German and it makes you practice your accent a lot more than you'd imagine.

For things like learning alphabets, depending on what your goal is, nothing beats repetition, either by writing or by seeing, the latter can be achieved easily with app nowadays.

As for the avatar one, I think we've been at ours for nearly 3 days and Kyan said she's going to announce the start of the next one soon so I'd suggest to stay put as it's easier to keep track if everyone starts together.

my mom doesn't like to see me with screens so i think i'll just write them all out in a notebook :mcsweat:

yeah it's def easier if we all start at once. thanks :qh:

Please do, not only is it good practice with language but it makes you spend a little more energy tahn you would just listenning to music.

Aha it's true that there's an user with that name.

Your mother sounds like mine, except she didn't like seeing me always with books either, I could never win.
If you write them, write the hangul along, it'll help you practice your handwriting as well.

my mom didn't like me seeing with books if they were fiction and not science or math related. :mcsweat: even if i was reading something like social studies and it was for school she didn't want me to spend much time on it.

yep! will do. i'm finding i'm writing hangul very messily haha so i definitely need the practice.

Seems like we have similar mothers. Except that even science books were the cause of her unrest.
I'm glad I leave alone now, there's no one except the BF to bother me about my habits and he never does.

You might think that but I'm pretty sure a native's handwriting can be a lot worse than yours.
