In Poland, if his on permanent contract, he should be paid no matter if it was after the holiday or just a random day. If he's on mandate contract, he'd have to show a sick leave from a doctor to get 80% of his wage for that day. And if he just took a day off on mandate contract, he wouldn't get paid at all, cause it's per hour. But that's only in Poland, I don't know what it's like in US (or rather in your state, cause I suppose each state may have different laws).

With Ash it's more like, he feels insecure, because he thinks too fast, therefore speaks too fast, sometimes eats a few syllables (or whole words), or mixes up the contradictory words (like he means water, but says fire, and from the context you can guess he means water, but he gets nervous when he does that anyways @_@;), plus I'm slow.... So sometimes I need him to repeat something, but instead he says the whole thing all over again, in different words, and then I get upset he didn't ust repeat the last bit I didn't grasp and it's all just frustrating for both of us in the end XD So I try to pay superhamn attention when he explains things to me

Aw, my bff has this tiny cat, for a long time her ears were too big for her own head, it was cute, I practically called her a bat for that XD (as in the Plecotus, one with huge ears, in Polish it's "gacek" (gah-tsek) and it sounds super funny XD I call that any animal with big ears, like French bulldogs for example, or any dog with standing ears ). But generally she's still a teeny tiny cat. So I definitely know what you're describing. (she also walks funny, I can't really exlplain it x.x)
