Rain makes me sleepy

We finally got some rain last night. It's been dry for nearly 2 months here. Of course I could have done without the hail that accompanied the rain.

But the hail turns into water, so you all good. lol.

~29 hours without power likely won't get any back until tomorrow

@Lianna -Were you close to one of the tornado touchdowns?? We had a couple of them here, too. I live far enough away from where they touched down that I didn't lose power, but I know of several people who did.

We average no tornadoes a year here
As in I remember ONE ever forming and touching down. And taking out all three greenhouses in one town. The three were very far apart, and that's all it hit
I don't know what tornado sirens sound like. Hell, I don't think we have any

Took nearly fifty hours, but it's back now

Fortunately nothing went bad cuz the house insulation is shot and it was cold. Plus we know better than to leave fridge and freezer doors open when the power's out

Gusts of 80mph+, all wind damage
A lot of roof damages, fortunately ours has no damage, but others took damage. At dad's part time job, they had to close early cuz skylights blew out. They were boarded up by the time dad got to work. Many schools yesterday were closed cuz lack of power

Woweez!! I don't want any of that wind!!! Glad you came through it relatively unscathed.

They called in crews from other states and Canada to help, that's how bad/widespread it was

Dad says that if his part time job offers full time at $15/hour, he'll take it and quit his main job. Steady money, much closer to home, and a lot less drama
It takes him about an hour to drive to his main job right now. The other one about twenty minutes, and that's factoring in waiting at the 475749291045 streetlights the local town/city has, and the fact that dad practically has to loop in a circle to get to said place
It there were a straight shot, it'd prolly be more like ten minutes

There's something to be said for a shortened commute. I ended up taking a different position within the same company for that very reason. I did take a paycut with mine, but it was totally worth it.

A lot of gas money saved for other things
