Fairy Tail is my love for some years now. Best anime ever.
Just saw first episode of Black Lagoon. I love Revy. And Balalaika is also badass.
In fact I liked Elfen Lied. It is gory, but I just liked the story and I love the main song. Also if You couldn't stand EL, don't watch Shiki or Higurashi... Especially Higurashi. They show so many ways to hurt and kill ppl...

You meant Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)? I wanted to see it to. Mostly 'cause I liked art :mcheh:

I never liked Attack on Titan. Read one chapter and saw one or two episodes, but... meh.

I usually don't post very much because I'm forum shy mixed with a busy schedule and constant lurking of other forum sites. :mcsweat:

@Lotus: If it would be to offensive for someone, then yeah, I wouldn't show it to them. But I would just use it as a way of saying that it isn't kiddish and that it can also be a medium in which to create things much more freely than film and can even be gruesome/gorey as opposed to the already established kid shows. It won't make someone necessarily like it, because we all have our own tastes, but maybe appreciate it a little bit more as an art form. I personally don't consume as much manga and anime as I used to as a teenager, but I still love it.

Often gore or disturbing content is necessary for the story, to put across what the author wants to. It's gore for the sake of gore that I hate, though so far none of the anime/manga I've experienced have disappointed me like that. It's just that if there's a story I can enjoy without going through nastiness that's obviously what I'll pick.
It's not like they really think anime is un-macho, it's hard to miss the variety in anime even if you're not an avid follower. It's that they're worried about what other people will think if they watch anime. Being macho is after all, social constructivism and all about how others see you :mcgloom: for all I know they might not believe in being macho but they'd like to just stay safe and fit in.
I'm extremely socially awkward IRL, and I try to make up for that online :mclaugh: I'm no champion poster though. I'll average 3 posts a day.

Now you made me think of Dance in the Vampire Bund. I used to read the manga (untill they split it up). And than suddenly they made an anime too.

But all i saw in the first 3 episodes was like... not the main character from the manga (diffrent outfit) and irrevant blood splatters :mcsweat:

I LOVE Revy and Balalaika! Balalaika gets some amazing character background/development later in the series! I also really like Eda! I need to read the manga, as I'm pretty sure she gets more character development there. Just haven't been able to yet.

That makes more sense. I can see where you're/they're coming from there. I was pretty much a loner most of my school years, so people already poked fun at me and formed their own opinion of me, so I didn't really care if they knew I played Dungeons and Dragons every weekend and watched anime/read manga. I also came to school with Pokemon games. It's not that what they said about me didn't hurt, but they were already going to say stuff anyway, so I might as well do what I enjoyed in the process, yeah?

@LeannaAnne - I actually never gave Dance in the Vampire Bund a chance. Not sure why.. Maybe I was too focused on other things at the time?[/align]

I loved the manga. It had a verry deep story (Even one of our national hero's was part of it! OwO)

But i just couldn't match the cute pink haired queen from the manga with the soulless blonde creature from the anime =\...

@Val: I know right.... i'm just at kofk at school. Some people should just take the chance to get to know you first right? xD

We're not allowed to bring laptops, phones or even fancy watches to school... so I'm stuck :mcmeh: all I can do to escape is daydream.
It's rare that I like an anime more than it's manga, and when I do it turns out the anime was made first.

I know what You mean guys. Though I never really hid that I was A&M fan. Probably just nobody bothered about me anyway. But I often did draw during classes at school, so I think most of ppl knew about it.

Somehow I mostly watch and rarely read. Probably should get to reading the series I saw to know everything. Especially since mostly animes based on mangas don't cover up everything and are a lot shorter.

Now I should read Dance in the Vampire Bund as I really enjoyed anime.
