((AAAAH I typed up a whole huge post in response, but it logged me out and I lost it. XD Well, here it goes again.))

After the time it had taken him to decide what to, and to not wear, he had gotten his power well under control once again. Though he didn't need any hints to know what Helena must have been thinking, her rather cute blush had told him that. It was a bit of luck he had seen it, though considering he'd been staring at her face as he'd approached it wasn't that hard to catch it before she turned her head to hide it away. He nodded, running his hand through his hair again almost absentmindedly in a halfhearted attempt to push his hair back once again. It stubbornly slide right back into it's slightly messy look. Her next comment caused a mildly annoyed look to cross his face. While he was sure there was a place in town the would work, he couldn't remember exactly where it was for the life of him. Kyle had only passed the place he'd thought of on his way to stores had held his interest much more, books and the like. The only other places he was really familiar with, were the ones he'd been dragged to by his mother, which were out for multiple reasons. The first was that it was obviously not was she was looking for, and he was sure she would feel just as awkward as he would, and the second was he didn't want to risk running into his mother. Again. The other stores he knew the location of were thrift shops, and those didn't exactly have the largest selection.

Kyle rubbed his neck, and sighed. "I believe I know a store that might work, but I can't quite remember where it is. The only places I would be able to find right away wouldn't work, for a few reasons." He looked at her, with a grin that was a bit like a grimace. "They're the type of places that my family would frequent, and I'm sure we don't want to risk encountering my mother on her errands. Besides, they're much farther then the town." He paused, looking awkward. "The other is... well, it wouldn't have something for you. It's selection is rather limited." He sighed again, trying to pinpoint the location of the suitable store. Kyle had a habit of rambling, due in part to his realization at a young age that if he didn't speak his thoughts, others wouldn't know them. However, due to where he grew up, that also meant he could swing to the other side of the coin, and speak nothing more then needed. When in an environment with people he was comfortable around, and who cared less for appearances he would speak almost everything he thought. When around nobles and the like, he never said anything other then what would get his point across.

"Well, I believe I can get us there." He said, though he only had a basic idea of where the store probably was. Kyle glanced around for his umbrella, it was rather large, due to the fact he had bought it to be able to cover anything he might be carrying, so it should easily cover both of them due to her small size. Due to how fickle the cloud cover seemed, he wanted to ensure they would be protected from both rain and shine, though if it had to be one, he hoped for the former. The sun would be much more of a problem for them, due to how open the town was. He finally caught sight of it's tarnished copper handle next to the staircase, it must have fallen off after being hung on it the last time he used it. Approaching and picking it up, he dusted off the black fabric before quickly opening it and coughing as a small cloud of dust floated off. He closed it again and hung in in the crook of his arm, to keep his hands free. "It might take a bit of walking, but..." He paused, looking sheepishly awkward, as he realized once again that he knew very little about his wife to be. "...unless you don't prefer walking. I generally walk into town, unless I have somewhere to be, though I can drive the carriage myself if that's what you'd like." He waited for her response, hoping it was walking, as he always felt odd taking the carriage into town, partially due to it's large size are partially because he didn't like standing out. At this point, it was all up to Helena.

Helena actually started playing with her hair as she tried to get her beating great to calm down. She didn't really listen properly to what Kyle was saying. She heard the last question. "Um ... Walk." She said and gave Kyle a small smile. It would be weird and rather silly to take a carriage down there, right. The town wasn't that far away. "Um.... " she hesitated and looked at the umbrella. Her blush had subsided, luckily. "We should get going, right?" She said.

They got outside and started walking. Helena actually wanted to hold Kyle's hand, if it didn't make her feel like a little sister to him. She probably looked like a little sister to people around them. They most definitely didn't look like a couple. And less as a engaged pair. She let out a small sigh, then looked up at Kyle. "How often have you been in the town?" She asked. She didn't like the silence and tried to fill it with empty talk.

((Well, I San make it as long as yours, but hope this is enough:D))

((No problem. I enjoy making long posts.))

"Right. Good." Her awkwardness was beginning to rub off on him, considering he was already leaning in that direction. "The town isn't to far away, so it shouldn't be a problem..." For a moment he stood there, not sure if he should go first, or her, when she commented that they should leave. He nodded and the headed for the door, though he did step ahead of her to open it, partially out of habit. He made sure to shift the umbrella so it was on the opposite side of her, just in case. He hadn't actually been into town in a few weeks, due to family matters, and truthfully the last year had been rather distracting. Helena sighed, drawing his attention. "Oh, well, I would say rather often, though I haven't been as often as normal this last year. Bit busy." Kyle suddenly realized what that sounded like. "I don't mean you've been keeping me from town! I got a rather large shipment of books in a bit before... well, our engagement and have been rather busy with them. I'd been needing them for a while, so they kept my attention." He paused again. "Also, as I'm sure you're aware, our families have been quite eager for my attention."

He sighed as well, using his free hand to push his hair back again, though once more it simply drifted back into his face. "Though as I'm sure you've heard her mention, my mother thinks I spend MUCH to much time down there, I rather enjoy it however." Kyle smiled a bit. "There's a few secondhand book shops that often have a surprising selection available, and since we get a rather large amount of researchers through the town, those types of stores are rather well frequented." Glancing back at Helena, he smiled. "Though enough about me, how often did you go into town, before living here? Are there any stores you prefer? If I know of one, we could stop by there as well." He hoped this didn't seem to prying, but since she seemed eager to talk, it was unlikely. So far, the weather was holding, so they didn't need to rush, but he kept a decent pace. However, since Helena was walking with him, he couldn't walk as fast as he normally could.

Helena continued playing with her hair nervously. "I .. Um ... I have never really been in a store." She said. "I mean, my family never let me set foot outside the house once they found out about my powers, and before that they were scared of hunters." She explained. "We had a large yard I was allowed in, but I wasn't really allowed to just wonder freely into a town." She said. "But, I do like books and clothes, I guess." She said and tried to figure out if she could I've an idea of where to go. She knew there was a slightly awkward atmosphere, but it wasn't really anything knew when she was part of a conversation for too long.

They reached the town after a little while. They just needed to fine a good cloth store. Helena looked around curiously. It wasn't exactly a small town they lived nearby. There was a lot of people there too. Helena moved closer to Kyle and ended up wrapping her arm around his to make sure she wouldn't get lost. She spotted a couple walking on the street. They looked really good next to each other. She probably looked like she was Kyle's little sister. She was so small compared to him. It actually bothered her a little that they didn't look like a perfect couple, but like perfect siblings. She was still far more beautiful than any human. She was also more beautiful than most vampires she had met, but her cost was her lack in size.

"Oh, uh, yes." Kyle wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, not many ways he could have considering the topic. It seems every reaction her family had to her powers was quite bad, especially when it came to believing her visions. It was like everything he asked was a landmine due to that. The hunters however, that he could respond too. "We don't need to worry about hunters here." He said, noting they were nearing the town. "I've built enough of a relation with the humans here the town is known as a haven for both species. It took some time but it was worth it." He paused before adding, "Actually, that's the reason we get so many researchers through here, it's one of the few places were both species actually work and live together as equals." Kyle was beginning to sound excited as he spoke, it was obviously something he was quite proud of. He stopped, looking at her sheepishly. "Right, clothes and books. I'm sure we'll be able to find something."

Once they reached town Helena wrapped her arm around his, which surprised him a little as he had been looking for an appropriate shop. Glancing down at her, he noticed her watching a couple walking toward them rather intently. The way she was so close to him, he assumed being around that many people was quite uncomfortable. For a small town, it did have more then the average number walking around. Though, it was nothing compared to the larger cities in the more populated areas. But for a town in the forest, near the mountains it was quite large. Looking around again for a place she might be able to find clothes, he spotted what seemed like a good start. The baker's wife had opened up a clothing shop right next to the bakery, but as it was mostly filled with lacy woman's clothing he normally avoided it save for the few times she'd dragged him in to show it to him. Due to the fact that most of the other clothing shops were very down to earth, save one or two very upscale stores, she'd done rather well. It sat between a book store and the bakery so it never really crossed his mind, but now it seemed perfect. Helena did seem like someone who'd look good in lace and such, though he wasn't sure she'd like it. "How does that look?" He asked, patting the hand she had around his arm to get her attention before pointing to the shop. "There are a few more upscale places in town I think, but they focus more on clientele like my mother, so I'm not sure you'd like them?" He ended in a question, because maybe she did like those types of clothes. Just because someone looked good in something, doesn't mean they'd like it.

Helena looked around. There was actually a lot of couples there. She actually spotted one where the girl was taller than the guy. That made her smile a little. She then felt something pat her hand and looked up at Kyle. She looked over in the direction Kyle had pointed, but she couldn't see much since a tall group of humans just decided to pass by as she looked. She tried getring on her toes, but in the end gave up. She made a small huff and let go of Kyle.

"Well," she started and shrugged. "We can go check it out, I guess." She said. She was a little intrigued by it. And actually wanted to have a look at the store. "Kyle!" Helena jumped as the owner called out Kyle's name. She closer to him as the owner came close. She was actually a rather shy being, though she had been very hostile to Kyle when they met. "What brings
.. oh, who is your little girlfriend?" She asked her attention falling to Helena. The owner seemed to be talking to herself, though, since she didn't let any of them answer. "I have the perfect thing for you, sweety, come with me." And with that Helena was dragged away.

She looked back at Kyle but then suddenly she was in a dress room and was given twenty dresses she had to try and see if they fit. They all looked lovely and very nice on her. Each time she tried a new dress she was dragged out to be on display fro Kyle, while the owner explained why this dress was good. She felt slight embarrassed about it, but she endured the embarrassment. It wasn't like she didn't like the dresses she was asked to wear. And she kind of wanted to see what dresses Kyle liked the most ... because he was the one buying them, not because she wanted to please him. No, she didn't want to do that.

Kyle had noticed after her eyes began to follow some of the other groups that she was looking at couples, not just the people. He couldn't tell if her being more conscious of how the two of them appeared together was a good thing or a bad thing, but he was quickly distracted by Helena trying to look over two humans walking out of the bakery past the store. The way she tried to stand on her tiptoes almost made him laugh, it was actually quite cute. He specifically held it in, because he knew she would take it the wrong way. However, this seemed to dampen her mood, as she let go of his arm and began to pout. Once again, looking quite cute. He nodded as she decided they could go to the store before he heard Anette, the owner, yelling at him.

He glanced over as the mildly plump and extremely cheerful looking woman finished running across the road to greet him. "Anette." Kyle nodded in greeting as she began to speak and was quickly distracted by Helena. He did noticed Helena hid behind him, seems his assumption she was uncomfortable around people was correct. "She's my fiance actually, we're-" at which point the Anette quickly interrupted and swept Helena into the store just as fast as she had come. Kyle quietly followed, though he quite stood out quite a bit inside the shop. As Helena was given dress after dress and rushed in and out of the dressing room Kyle knew he'd made the right choice. She really did look good in these dresses. The soft colors and lacy accents were perfect on her. Normally, he might have at least tried to listen to Anette as she spoke, but Helena was rather distracting.

He took this opportunity to compliment her. "Cute." He said, feeling the desire to tease her again after seeming the embarrassment she tried to hide on her face as she first exited the dressing room. He continued with that for a while before she exited in a more ballgown style dress. "Very beautiful." Kyle said this time. His smile hiding a bit of a smirk once again. Honeslty, he'd planned on sticking with cute, but that really didn't describe the way the dress perfectly accented her lithe figure while still managing a flowing elegance. After she was swept in one last time she came out in a lovely summer dress with a sheer lace layer over the cloth, creating essentially a lace dress. The sleeves themselves were simply lace, as the dress itself had none. For a moment, Kyle forgot teasing her and stared. "You look lovely." He said, no longer teasing. Now, that's not to say he wasn't serious about everything else he said, just much more so in this case. Realizing he was staring he coughed, "Anything else you'd like to try on, or have you decided?" He asked a bit awkwardly, but partially managing to regain his normal tone.

Helena's blushed darkened slightly at Kyle's teasing, though she did reply to his comment by sticking her tongue out at him. What she didn't realize was that it did little to stop her from being cute. When she got out in the last dress she could see the teasing was gone in Kyle's eyes. He looked ... no, he stared at her in awe. The gaze made her squirm a little nervously.

She wasn't really used to have people stare at her like that. It wasn't ... bad, just a little intense. When Kyle regained his composure she looked away almost immediately. "I ... I don't know." She said. Anette was quick to step in. "I have more dresses that I think would be nice on the young lady." She said and smiled. Helena looked up. She shook her head. "I-I'm fine." It was already too much. She couldn't possibly ask for all of them. There was like twenty or something that Anette had found for her and she had tried on eight of them.

Helena walked back into the dressing room. She was about to dress back into her own dress, when she spotted a very beautiful red ballgown. She picked it up and stared at it for a few seconds. In the end she put it on and looked at herself in the mirror. the dress fit her nicely, though ...

Helena looked at herself in the mirror and frowned. Her hair did fit like this. She loosened her hair down and ran her hand through her hair. This looked good. She smiled for herself. Then she took of the dress and placed it on the pile of things she wanted and got dressed in the dress she had arrived in and headed out with the pile she wanted. She gave it to Anette. "I want these." She said and played with hair. That was when she realized she hadn't put her hair up again.

Kyle specifically didn't actually look at Helena fully until after she was already walking back into the dressing room. At that point Anette turned to him with a rather large smile on her face, before breaking into a grin. "So, where have you been hiding that adorable girl? Why didn't you come introduce her sooner?" Kyle smiled, knowing this was the beginning of what would likely be a tirade of questions. "She was avoiding me, guess I'm just not very likable." He said jokingly, shrugging along. He knew that despite the fact it was the truth, she'd take it as a joke. Anette laughed. "Now now, you just need to compliment her more, you didn't say nearly enough nice things about her dresses." She patted him rather hard on the shoulder. Kyle chuckled. "I'm quite sure that would have the opposite effect, I was pushing it as it is." Anette shook her head, smiling good-naturedly. "Men, they just can't understand how women think." Kyle chuckled again as Helena came out of the dressing room, glancing up at her as she approached with the pile of dresses she'd chosen.

Kyle watched her playing with her hair, she'd put it up while he'd been getting ready to head into town earlier, but it seems like she'd taken it down again. It looked nice. Though it looked nice either way really... he shook his head and followed Anette over to the counter as she continued speaking in his direction. "-now you need to convince this girl to buy more dresses, this isn't nearly enough! I've got so many other lovely things she could be wearing!" Once again, she was mostly speaking to herself, but Kyle added in mock exasperation. "It's not like she doesn't have other clothes." He chuckled as he pulled out his wallet to pay for what she'd bought. Honestly, he hadn't been sure how much to bring, but he usually had quite a bit on him at all times due to his habit of spending way to much on books. Anette told him the cost and packaged everything up, talking about how it was such a waste for such a cute girl to not try on more clothes, while Kyle simply nodded, smiling widely and handing her the money. Honestly, he'd spent much more on books, but it was more expensive then the clothes he normally bought for himself. Not that his mother or family bought, but considering he had the money to spare it wasn't like it bothered him. Besides, buying things for his wife-to-be was honestly rather nice.
