I feel weird jumping in the middle of other people's chats, so I'm starting my own. Feel free to drop in and say hello.

A little about me:
I'm a software engineering manager who works from home. I have two kids who keep be busy. I like biking and yoga to stay active, and I like video games and books when I'm feeling less active. I also enjoy 3d printing and Lego.

I haven't been super active on this site in about 12 years. But, I'm trying to at least make a habit of feeding my knuffel and participating in some events.

Thanks for dropping by!

I'm doing alright. Half of the folks on my team are out this week. So far, that's translated into a light week with lots of time for heads down work and distractions. If something goes wrong, things could get stressful really quick. So, for now, I'm enjoying the quiet.

My family went to Alabama recently, and they took my little with them. I hate admitting it but I really needed the quiet to help reset my work load and my sleep schedule.

I love a bit of alone time, whether at work or in my house. Sometimes I let it slip away without making good use of it though.

I did feel like I wasted my quiet time just a while ago, when my family went to Alabama, but I did work through my school work and I enjoyed that it didn't stress me so much when they came home.

I need quiet time regularly to recharge. Otherwise I feel drained.

I like using my quiet time to do things, like journal and write, but I also enjoy being able to just be. I want to be able to sit with my thoughts and find peace that way, I need to work on my mental health to be able to do that.

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

I like to use alone time for journaling too, though I don't do it nearly as much as I should. I don't usually give myself time alone with my thoughts unless I find some way to occupy myself, like going for a bike ride.

The last time, I had a free day all to myself, I went for a 3 hour bike ride. It was great. But, while I was out, I came up with a list of other things I wanted to do when I got home. Then, I was tired when I got home and mostly ended up just napping.

I feel this so bad, I've been like,,, bumbling around trying to figure out where to hang out haha.

I feel that about not journaling enough though, the best I can do is barely keep up with a bullet journal ^^;

You're welcome to hang here. :)

I've been keeping a journal on and off (and mostly off) for about 30 years now. I used to start almost every entry by apologizing for how long it had been since I last wrote in it until I decided to just forgive myself and stop wasting ink.
