I get where I will do things like...

I would constantly knock on wood if any bad thought came to mind.
It got to where I'd sit and knock on wood repeatedly for minutes at a time.
I thought if I didn't do that, then something bad would happen.

I also lock the car doors even if I know they're locked.
I had someone try to get into our car years ago, so I freak out and lock the doors constantly.
And if they aren't locked, I harass whoever's driving to lock them.

I also get intrusive thoughts A LOT.
I didn't even know what those were until a friend told me.
They told me they're called intrusive thoughts and they're "normal".
That made me feel so much better.

It's bothersome in the way that they think it's cool to have mental illness. Which it's not. It's not a trend or a cute accessory and it's not fun.

I've heard that line before and I always liked it.
But it's shitty to be that way.
To know you're so close to the edge.

I was messed up for like a year and it was physically and mentally tiring and painful.
The only time I knew peace was when I was unconscious.
It got to where I begged God to kill me because the pain was too much.
I'm honestly surprised I survived it ._.
Just telling people "I had a breakdown" doesn't cover the amount of suffering I felt so I don't think they fully understand how bad it was.
UNLESS they've felt the pain too.
I have so many scars that no one can see xD
But I came out stronger so it wasn't meaningless.
It actually gave me enough clarity that I see that most things happen for a reason.

I think he has German Shepherd too. Lab, eh? That's what my mom said too 8u
I actually went online and tried to figure out the kinds of dogs they were.
They have/had curly tails, black spots on their tongues and kinda saggy skin.
Soi and Hyde had/have saggy skin, but Saya didn't.

We actually found Soi under our car when she was a puppy.
My dad said he tried to chase her off so many times, but she always came back.
He said he opened our gate and said "Come on !" and she became part of the family xD
She was a damn good dog too.

Saya was a huge licker. That dog licked everything. My dad said he saw her outside lying on her back and licking the sidewalk.
I joke that she gave me my first french kiss too.
She had puppies and I was bending over, talking to one of them.
She walked up, licked me in the mouth, then just walked off like nothing happened.
The AUDACITY >>!
It was gross, but it's a fond memory because it was funny xD

I called her licks "Saya kissies".
She'd lick Hyde and even Kiri and it was so sweet.

I do the door locking thing too. When I was a kid I had to touch the back of my shoes a bunch of times. O.o I don't know what that was all about. XD I had to count. A lot. So many things, too many to mention. I'm just glad that very little bothers me anymore.

I don't get intrusive thoughts very often. I didn't even know that had a name! I had to look it up. XD I think most people have that to some degree though.

I see what you mean. Mental illness is definitely not fun.

Yeah. So sad.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I went through something very similar. I slept almost nonstop for about 2 years. I wish I was exaggerating. :qsob: My ex-husband and son's mental illnesses drove me batty. Then I unexpectedly got my step-daughter full time. I was drowning. I also prayed for release everyday. Now, I'm glad that God didn't listen to me. I had to blow my life up and start over to get better. What made you get better?

Hmmm. Black spots. I don't know what that is. Chows have blue tongues but they don't look like chows. XD

Awww. That's so sweet.

LOL Ray Ray's mom, Fidget, was an obsessive licker. She'd lick the air when she ran out of things to lick. It looked like she was threatening me with her tongue. XD That is a cute memory! Max likes to sneak in french kiss once in a while. I always tell him that the chin is the limit, no mouth. XD

Too cute. :qsq:

Max's anal glands are bothering him. :/ He usually manages on his own but I think he may have to go to the vet to get them expressed. I hate taking him to the vet! He throws such a tantrum. First, I have to carry him in because he refuses to walk in on his own. Once I get him inside he constantly tries to escape. To top it all off, in order to do anything to him they have to muzzle and restrain him. He is impossible to hold normally. I've never seen anything like it. You know how crocs do that death roll thing? That's Max. He squirms so badly that you can't keep a grip on him. They have to put him in a side-hold to trim his nails. It's to the point that I get anxious when I have to take him to the vet.

Yeah, I couldn't fathom being like that all the time.
It's terrible xD

I didn't know they had a name either. I have an online friend who was in psychology and she told me they had a name.
I get them a lot. Usually I can just force them away, but sometimes they get to me. Then I pray them away.

I also get thoughts of "You don't matter." "You should die." "You are worthless." "No one loves you." "No one cares about what you say."
That last one happens a lot.
When I'm talking to someone and want to share something with them, I hear "They don't care about that." so I stop before I tell them something.
I was at the dentist once and I wanted to tell him what my sister said because it was funny and cute, but the thought was like "He doesn't care about that."
But I ignored the thought and told him and he and his assistant laughed.

I'm sorry you went through that ;; -hugs-
I know sometimes I don't want to wake up xD
Don't want to die, just be unconscious for a week or two u8

My loved ones helped me get better. They tried so hard to help me.
Near the end, a joke my therapist told me and a documentary meant to show God doesn't exist helped push me over the hurdle.
I can't remember my therapist's joke word by word but it went something like this:

This town becomes flooded and this woman is in her house, a man comes wading by, telling her to go with him so she'll be safe. She tells him "God will save me!" The water rises and a man in a boat comes by and tells her to get in the boat and she says "God will save me!" The water rises and a helicopter comes by. The pilot tells her to get in and she says "God will save me!"
Well, she drowns and goes to heaven and she asks God why he didn't save her.
God responds "What are you talking about? I sent a man, a boat and a helicopter!"
It made me realize that my friends were from God, who was trying to help me.

And the documentary showed me that people don't know what they're talking about so I shouldn't listen to people and believe what I feel is right xD

Awww. I'll pray that you don't get them anymore. It would be miserable to get them stuck in your head.

You totally have to change your negative internal dialogue. We all have it to an extent but yours is pretty bad. None of those things are true about you. *hugs* Just for the record, you can tell me whatever you want to and I'll want to hear it. :qsml: When I want to stop bad things going on in my head I either replace it with something positive, or I just tell myself to knock it off and refuse to listen. It eventually goes away. The more I practice, the better and faster it works.

I bet they did. You have great stories!

Thanks, me too. *hugs* But I came out much stronger on the other side. :qsml:

But think of all the great things you'd miss if you slept so long. XD The animals and your sister could do a lot of funny stuff in that amount of time. :qw:

That's awesome! :qsml: :qh: I'm glad you figured that out and that you had God and everyone else to help you get through it. It can be hard to see the help when we're so mired in the muck of depression. I couldn't see it back then. You figured it out before I did. XD

I usually can overcome the thoughts, but sometimes they get to me really bad 8u

I'm always so tired. Sleeping for a long time might be nice. I have sleep issues and always feel tired xD

Not enough sleep sucks. :qsob:

It is so humid! :mcargh: I need to go swimming soon.

So today I forgot about my chiropractor appointment, but the phone alarm went off in time for me to get there.

Then I'm coming home after running around the mall a little bit, thinking that I've made it. No dolls bought today (bought some yesterday AND the day before)! And then...

I don't know. I think I've looked without success. But my memories haven't straightened out from this last period yet.

I love that joke, Moi. I also love the one about the scientist who told God he didn't need Him anymore.

Rayven: I've been staying up until 4 AM lately.
I'm just not tired at night.
But I'm tired all day xD

I don't take naps. For whatever reason, I wake up in a bad mood and I don't feel safe. I'm extremely confused and anxious when I wake up from naps.

It's been hot as hell here. But we got a little cool front the other day.
Felt nice.

Tam: Gotta love those phone alarms 8u
Mine goes off whenever my mom has appointments.
I don't know how they get on my phone and tablet, though xD

Tam-I'm glad you made it to your appointment. :qsml:

O.O Wow. Just wow. XD I'm not sure what to say about Enzo. I've never seen anything like him. He looks very nice and soft. :qsml:

Moi-Wow. That's late. XD I'm pretty worthless by that time.

I've had that trouble a lot too but lately I've been able to take them.

Lucky you. It's just been hot and humid here. :/

Did you have hotdogs last night? LOL

Well, my mom, aunt and my mom's boyfriend had subs.
