From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.
Question #62: If you walked out of your house one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in some nearby bushes, what would you do?

I would make sure it's in no immediate danger and then check on it every so often. It might sound heartless, but if it is a wild bird there is not much to do for it because that's nature I suppose. I would still think about it and worry about it.

I would try to catch her without doing further damage. Once caught, I would see if any wildlife rehabber could take her. If no one could, I'd probably post in some local animal groups to see if anyone with more experience with birds, ideally injured birds, could take her even if they weren't technically a rehabber. As a last resort (just because I have no bird experience), I would keep her and ask for advice in bird groups.

I'd bring it home with me and try to contact some kind of animal service, but considering that we don't really have specific animal centers or things like that where I live, I would probably end up caring for the bird myself.

I would try and keep it protected from predators and call the local wildlife facilities. I've actually had to do this for a pigeon before.
