I'm facing this type of decision in the not to distant future. My Dad is 82 and in poor health. I never know what I'm going to find when I walk in his house. I do know that if he were in the hospital and on life support that he would want us (my siblings and I) to let him go peacefully.

I have not had the choice in any of the instances, but a father-in-law, my mother, and my father all died in such a way that decisions had to be made about whether or not to resuscitate them. It was not difficult for the family in all instances because their conditions were terminal. But you still feel like you are killing them. It was hellish.
