From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.
Question #27: If God appeared to you in a series of vivid and moving dreams and told you to leave everything behind, travel alone to the Red Sea and become a fisherman, what would you do? What if you were told to sacrifice your child?

Nope.
I'm not following a God that wouldn't give a good and pressing reason for abandoning my family and friends to go change living location and vocation, and I would absolutely not follow a god that demanded the sacrifice of a child. Sounds more like a force of evil than a force of good, to me.
I don't care if this God thinks my child would grow up to be a genocidal dictator -the answer isn't going to be in more death, it's going to be in carefully educated life.

I wouldn't even consider it. I've had a lot of vivid and moving dreams. They're still just dreams. And I don't believe in any gods. And I don't fish, I don't eat fish, and I don't ever plan to do either. So it's a very hard no from me. I would just chalk it up to being a crazy dream. If I was having vivid dreams about someone telling me to kill my child, then I would talk to a therapist.

Lol.. That would be a very specific thing for God to want me to do. I dont know if I would be any good at fishing. Id rather just not be told what to do in the first place. Like, God, you gave me free-will, I dont want to harm any fishies, so if you really want me to do something like that, force me into that position, otherwise I might be chasing a delusion. Faith this, faith that, but at the end of the day, fulfilling a dream is easier said than done.
I dont have a child to sacrifice, and if God demanded that.. well. Lets just say God and I would not be on good terms.

Hm, okay, yes, I realized from your response that I was assuming that implicit in the question was some sort of method of determining that these "god dreams" were more than just regular dreams from my own sleeping mind..... which is why in my answer I merely addressed the notion that this god would be rejected, rather than discussing the folly of taking what are only dreams for anything more.
I have no clue HOW that distinction implied in the question would have been made, but I was assuming it.
Without that, then no, but for a different reason. No, because they're dreams, and the only thing that might happen is a little introspection into what might have prompted them.

I'm an atheist so I would just assume my mental health was acting up on me again. I ain't being no fisherman anyway. I would get sunburn so bad. Ugh.
Also no kids here, but obviously any god that would demand the life of an innocent child sucks balls.

Um, no. :/
I don't even like fish, and I've never particularly had the patience to go fishing for long periods of time, so yeah, that's a hard no for me.
And if I listened to what my dreams told me I'd either be interned as a psycho or dead because I thought I could fly and jumped off a cliff. :/
Oh, and, if you wanna talk to me you better do it face to face, 'cause I refuse to believe in anything I haven't seen with my own two eyes. And kill a kid? I don't have plans to have children of my own but to kill anyone because someone in my dreams told me to? I'd sooner stab the dream-being than obey it.
