Maybe! And congrats on finishing your goodreads challenge!

I think I will go for 20 again even though I might not even achieve it this year.

Nice to finish your goals, though, isn't it Alice? And I definitely know what you mean about glutting easily on the 1st person PoVs.

I liked the sound of The Gauguin Connection until you said it was in 1st person, but I don't really want to face another one of those right now.

I don't have anything for next year, still trying to figure out this year.

I want to buy or trade for these knuffels:
Earth Gen 18, Light Gen 19, Fire Gen 21, Air/Light/Water Gen 22, Light Gen 23, Earth/Light Gen 25, Darkness Gen 26.
Please PM me if you can help!

I think I might try and aim for 52 books next year, but if not, then i'd at least like to read maybe 20 or 30 books because i've never read that amount in a year before :mcheh:

well, you would get a lot of support from this group. :) It's a nice set of people to talk books with that's been collected here.

@Julez: thanks!
you can pick up shorter books if the number is important. or just go with quality over quantity! ;)

@Akili: it's nice to reach a mark, especially if it's visualized :)

I'm just trying to not stack books with similar elements after each other, if that's something I can foresee. in The Gauguin Connection this point of view amplifies the protagonist's reactions and thought process. it could have been achieved with a 3rd person limited but at least the choice made sense

in the other book, it didn't serve any real purpose. it's surprisingly a default point of view for romances with hints of own wish-fulfillment. not that it's bad, I'm just not sure that all authors choosing 1st pov do so consciously

@Ghost: you'll only have support in this thread! (or the 2019 one)
talking to people here is a much better reading motivator than just a number as a goal, that's for sure

Yeah, I think so. And I think I am around 20 now and not close to finishing any more.
