We're supposed to use the analog clocks on the walls to read time at work
Except everyone had their phone on them so half the time we just check there cuz 1. faster, and 2. some areas are blind spots for clocks

Yeah unfortunately we didn't have a clock in the one spot for two weeks cuz my lead went to change it for daylight savings and broke it instead
Also we get far enough away I can't see the clock #myglassesneedupdating

My watch is a wind-up watch, no batteries required.
But the clasp is broken and I still haven't gotten it replaced, so it's not as useful as the wall clocks.

I should get the watch fixed.

In other news!!
I got a donut!
Ha ha ah ha, it's like a sudden gift from nowhere.
Instant mood boost.

Yay donut!

I’ve never owned a wind up watch before! That sounds cool.

I think the actual term for them is "mechanical watches" instead of "wind-up watches" but let's face it, the biggest difference is that instead of batteries they run by being wound, so...
it's a descriptive term, it ought to count as accurate, right?

Anyhow you can sometimes find a good deal on them at garage sales and estate sales around here, but it's getting harder to find them as time goes on. When I was a kid it was a lot easier, so I got in the habit of just keeping an eye out and having some backups so if something like a broken clasp happened, I'd just switch instead of repairing (jewelers who repair watches, even if it's something as simple as a broken clasp, tended to be way more expensive than a "new" second-hand watch. It's still confusing to me as to why that would be, but there you go).
But, at this point, I don't have any left to switch to.
So I should just bite the bullet and get it repaired.
There's the last one when it was just a broken clasp, but there's older ones that I don't know why they had trouble; maybe it just needs cleaning but maybe it's something else, who knows.
Oh, well, it's not urgent, it's waited this long...

Still, sounds cool. Altho, I like watches that have separate dials, not like smart watches but like an analog watch that also can have the date set in or has a separate timer switch lol.

I had one when I was a child.
I haven't used a wrist watch in forever, since I lost mine 20 years ago actually.

I've been thinking about buying one but if I do I want a pretty and durable one and those tend to run a bit more expensive than I'd like.
Especially since I know I tend to be a bit rough with my everyday things.

Durability sounds amazing; I guess it's not surprising you say it's expensive. I've never tried to buy a new watch, but something that handy has to come with a price tag commensurate with its utility.

A set of hands for the date? I've seen that in grandfather clocks, but nowhere else, now I have to go look that up. Sounds tricky to pull off; is it tied to the same set of gears? How would that work? I bet wiki will tell me. Let me just set an alarm first so I don't spend the rest of the day on it, lol
