I cannot throw water bombs anymore and others can... help?

I thought the event was over on the 30th because there were no more throw buttons appearing. I tried on the 31st because the event was supposed to be over on the 30th but it usually drags out a bit.

The counter showed it was time to throw but I could not anymore because nothing appeared under the avatars in any forums, so I thought the event was over on time this time. I was competing for the first place. So, I thought it was over and I was leading by more than 300 points woohoo!
The top 2 scores in the 31st in the morning were: 6322 vs 6016

I checked back not long ago and it said I'm in 2nd place. Down by 40 points...
How did this happen? Do the buttons get turned off for some people earlier than for others? Or did I do something wrong to be banned from playing?

I checked the scores again. Down by 73 points! The others can still play and I cannot!
I cannot throw! There are no buttons. I lost 1st place already ...
Is the event really over?

I can't really answer any of your questions but I noticed this as well,
When the event ended for me and the buttons disappeared I took a screenshot of the top list to preserve my score for me and the list definitely changed since then so other people could definitely play longer.
In another thread somebody wrote the event just ended for them 6 hours later then it ended for me

I don't know if this could be related to timezones or if it's bug though

I don't think it's about the time zones because I can still see the top score growing. Now the difference is 132 points ...
I didn't really pay attention to the other scores because we were way ahead of everybody

If it was over for others earlier, there's definitely something hinky, because it didn't end for me until my local-time changed to August.

I thought the event had just extended, but if it hadn't, then something's wrong, because was able to continue throwing until recently.

Not sure if it will help track down why, but I use the "Brave" browser. The settings are to let this website use cookies/trackers/shields are down for this site.

If there's something else you think might be relevant that I can tell you, let me know.
