I'm also pretty well in between generations in the family too: too young for x too old for y
Older is, at best, late 20s, and younger drops to mid-teens
I know three that are close in age to me in comparison
I'm not particularly close to any of them
Okay I have to just stop and ask because I've never understood this age segregation thing.
Why / how can you be "too old" or "too young" for friends or family? How does that work? Is it just a thing where you try and see that you share experiences because you grew up on the same stuff? But then people don't watch/see/notice the same things anyhow, so... ?
What is it that makes it desirable that you should only associate with people close to you in age?
I mean, you just said you weren't close to any of the people who WERE closest to you in age, so it's not some automatic bond, so....
It's such a common thing, that I see all over, people mention it all the time, and I don't get it. I must be missing something obvious, but...
Understanding social interactions is NOT my strong point. I know it might be obvious, but I really don't get it.
Can you articulate it at all? Explain it even a little?
