We have chicken and dumplings a lot at home. One day I had some back strap (a really tender part of a deer) and instead of putting chicken in the dumplings I put the back strap in it and my family ate the whole thing. I just don't have regular access to back strap lol.

I'm not sure if they are the same thing or there is a lingual or culinary distinction between deer or venison. In ye olde days, like old, calling something "cow" or "pig" indicated it was normal peasant food while "beef" or "pork" was specially prepared for upper society.

We used ground deer meat, which is similar enough to beef you can use all the normal seasonings for beef on these packs. My brother-in-law likes to hunt, so every so often he gets a deer and shares it with the family.

Iunno. To me, referring to my meat by the animal sounds weird in some cases. It sounds fine with chicken or duck or fish. But i prefer using pork, beef (and venison I guess) to refer to other meat. Either way, it sounds weird to me if I say “I’m eating pig eat” or something lol.

Venison and Deer are the same thing. Just depends on where someone is from (kinda like pop and soda)

good luck... i never see it in stores as the hunters all hog it for themselves. you'd have to know a hunter who's willing to share... QnQ

Yeah I dunno if they have this in regular stores lol. Might have to find some specialty stores.
