Can I have a 3 today please?

@Haze
It is! It is! If given a chance, you should try it sometime. It's recently been a fad in Asia too so it might expand westward.

@Lady River
That sounds lovely *^* It's been a while since I've had red sauce. My mom has way into making oil based pastas recently.

OH! So that's Taiwanese chicken. I've had that before at a franchise called 'hot star' and it was so tasty. I got this spicy salt on it and it was HOT! The chicken was so crispy and sweet.

My parents don't make pasta at all. We used pasta shapes but with chicken and beef based broths :3

Mika off to work/hang out with friends today?

@Jul
Been searching for a decent Korean restaurant for a while now but we mostly seem to have chinese and japanese cuisine. Guess it'd be the same for the taiwanese one.

There was a time I was obsessed with pasta too, I'd eat it thrice a week or so but now it's just once per week or two. Now I seem to prefer rice c:

Can I have number 1 for today?

Psst, if you're coming to Sydney there's an entire suburb of Korean restraurants called Strathfield, alternatively there's also a good place in the CBD run by someone who used to work in the Korean entertainment industry called Danjee but it is a more expensive than other places.

We too have a tonne of Japanese but by Japanese I only mean westernised sushi and ramen.

Just white rice? I like jasmine rice. I think it tastes the best also rice I had in Japan was lovely too. It was so fluffy whereas jasmine rice is more fragrant.

Ah sounds delicious!

In their majority, Japanese restaurants are like whaf you described but there are some more specialised ones, though much more expensive but still worth it when you want to have a nice dinner.

Nope, I always get creative with rice. Either risotto style or adding vegetables and their broth, others times might add some tuna and lemon juice, curry or red sauce. Gonna cook it in tea soon, been meaning to do for months now! I like jasmine rice mostly in rice puddings while everyone else seems to swear by it. Guess I prefer basmati myself.

There's this lovely Japanese restaurant in South Bank Brisbane I had I think it was a fancy chicken curry meal. Peter had this seafood meal.

Place called San Kai.

There aren't much Korean restaurants here either. Those that exist tend to be on the pricier side too. There's a famous Korean restaurant near our uni and I haven't gone there to eat because I'm such a broke college student orz

@Poshi
I'll be going to Sydney around Christmas time! I'll take note of your restaurant recommendations *^*

Yeh, we have some of those too like small, several month bookings in advance type of japanese meals. I'm the opposite, I really can't enjoy basmati but because we're south east asian I guess my parents are used to thai rice. I might try tea rice, that sounds really good!

KBBQ is fairly expensive but I don't enjoy meats enough to have KBBQ. I enjoy the regular stuff or even hot pot is lovely. Kimchijigae is the best especially in winter.

Oh nice Lia. Are you here for holiday with the family? Where are you from anyway? I'll be blistering hot in December/Jan but it's beach season :3 Hit up some beaches, go for a coastal walk. Hiring a car and going out to the mountains is also fun if you enjoy sight seeing, hikes etc.

@Haze @Poshi
Homemade tea rice sounds lovely. I've only had it once, and it wasn't exactly rice cooked in tea but rather just tea poured over the entire meal (it was in a bowl so the rice and viand inside it got soaked with tea). I think it's called ochazuke if I remember correctly. It tasted really nice and light.

Korean BBQ IS fairly expensive ;A; and I don't feel justified spending that much money on the Korean restaurants here because I feel like the quality isn't quite there yet. I really enjoy hotpots though; not just eating them but also cooking XD I think I like the idea of just putting everything in a single pot and it still tastes nice.

@Poshi
Yup yup. I'm going there with my family. We've been meaning to go for a while because I have cousins from New Zealand who has been trying to convince us to go but it was only recently that they managed to convince my mom and dad XD We're going to Sydney first then Gold Coast. I would love to go see nature but my parents aren't fans of anything physical >3> I'm going to try to convince them to go to museums and gardens though. Also, I live in the Philippines.
