You have hugged jadepanda-ai!

nice!!
I'll need to figure out something to request for a drawing :mcglee:

you're almost done with freshman year?!?!? it feels like you just started a few months ago, that's crazy
it snowed today :mcangry: it wasn't much, but it made the roads super slick.

thanks, I try :mccute:
Pippin had her operation today, was able to visit her and she looked pretty good just super groggy from all the meds. the vet said they want her to stay overnight for observation since her operation was later in the day, she should be able to come home tomorrow though :mchappy:

no, not one with wheels, just like the ones you see in trailer parks a lot (they're basically one floored, rectangular houses) and I'd probably rent it, just 'cause owning a place can be super expensive from what I've heard

Yea c:

Right? It's been... 7 months I think? One more quarter and summer vacation! :D
Oh dang :c Do you drive?

I'm kinda curious now. Do you have a family vet you go to?

Ooooooh xD
Really?! :o I'd be less expensive!

7 months :mcomg:
where did time go?
yea, I drive. I've never liked it though, but where I live it's basically a necessity since the majority of places are too far to walk to.

I've been going to a pretty basic pet clinic I think, not sure if it's family owned. they're really nice there though.
Pippin came home today :mcglee: she's been all sleepy, but as soon as I walked her inside she peeked out from where she was hiding and looked really excited to be home, then I put her in her temporary cage for healing and she just went into sleep mode again.

I've heard they're less expensive. someone I know had lived in one and the rent cost and the land rent was less than my apartment rent, and the trailer was bigger than my apartment too!

Seriously :l
*sigh* Same here. There's the bus which is free for students.. that's nice, but I also can't just walk to places. And although I do have a license, I don't like driving :c Scary.

Oh I meant just like one vet that your family all goes to for your pets. But I see c:
Aw, she was excited to be home :')

Oh dang. Sounds like a real nice place to live in, especially because you wanted a specific environment.

Man, I'm so sad. I missed the auction for the golden bunny ears ;o; I did an all nighter for my 8am final, and I came back earlier than I expected, so I took a nap... I woke up but then closed my eyes.. and when I opened them again, I missed my time orz Ughhhhsaddddnesssss

that sucks! I sort of pictured a small town where everything you could walk to :mcgasp:

I think right now out of my immediate family I'm the only one with pets, but I'd recommend the vet I see to family *nods* they're the best vet place I've been too! (even though I've only been to two vet places and one emergency clinic, can you believe that many emergency clinics here don't see rats?! it's insane, one place saw rats but not until after 5pm, it's nuts!)
but also the vet place I've been going to one of my closest friends works there with her mom, so it's really nice to know people there. so you know your fur-kids are in good hands :mcglee:

yea! she was so excited, it was so cute. she's doing so well too! I took her out earlier to give her some oral meds, since she won't take them mixed in baby food (apparently she hates baby food to a very strong degree) and she went nuts while she was out, I figured she'd just lay down and rest, I had to hold her back from jumping on my desk and trying to jump to the floor. it's like nothing ever happened, unless you see the stitches on her belly.

have to see what happens though, and what I can find. I think a lot of cheaper trailers are really far away for me, and I'd like to stay close to doctor places/hospitals, vet place, ect. so it's more than likely going to be another apartment place (smoke free though, has to be smoke free)

oh man! that sucks! hopefully they come back to auction again, or just buy now and you catch it first

You're half right... but at the same time, driving/bus is the only way to get to downtown :c Walking would be a pain lol
But it's close enough to just take the bus!

That IS weird! :o Aren't they one of the more common pets?
That's good to hear! :D

How are rat baby foods? o_e

LOL yea, good idea xD
I don't know, but are apartments usually smoke free? Like, my dad would smoke out the balcony, would that be considered smoke free?

Yea orz Ughhh so much regret not waking up lol Next time... next time.

I gotcha

they don't seem too common here, even buying or adopting rats here is a bit tricky it seems, the Petco here stopped selling rats to avoid getting them fed to other animals (they replaced them with more mice to be sold to get fed to other animals... doesn't make much sense to me.. getting rid of an animal to spare it's life by replacing it with another animal to be used as 'feed' ~they have four aquariums with mice now before they just had two), so the main ways to adopt a rat where I'm at is either to manage to adopt one from the humane society or find a breeder. the breeder I got Meadow from is having another litter next month, so I'm hoping to get a fourth (dumbo eared) girl but his ratties go pretty quickly too :mcgasp:

just baby food, after Lily had her operation she wouldn't eat solid food so she had to eat baby food (she also wouldn't eat her meds, so I had to mix it into the baby food as well). I tried the same with Pippin, but she prefers her solid food and just eating the meds out of the needle-less syringe they gave me.
speaking of Pip, she gave me quite a scare last night and I was able to get her to the vet today, she got a little bit of an infection but when I saw the infection last night :mcomg: it looked and smelled SO BAD! I was so worried that it was a crazy bad infection :mcomg:

from what I've heard with smoke free apartments, it's a "no smoking at all in the building, smoke on the balcony or outside" sort of deal, where as where I'm at now people smoke inside their living space but so much that it comes into my apartment. I did hear of an apartment where they were so strict that they had cameras on the balcony and would watch to make sure you didn't even smoke there. and I've heard of some that are a 'you have to be x amount of feet away from the door to smoke'

you can do it! :mcglee:

Oooooh. I see :o
Wait you're going to get another one already? xD I hasn't been that long since you got Meadow though!

Human baby food? o_o
Oh dang.. if you could smell it from that tiny body, it must have been a strong smell...;; Well, I'm glad it was just a little, right?

Hm, I see I see. That'll be better for you :)
Doens't the fire alarm go off??? o_o

Thank you ;w; I've been here for 4 years, I could do another 4 years getting those ears lol

I think I may wait a bit longer actually.. I was thinking about getting another baby one so Meadow would have someone closer to her age, since she's super playful but Lily and Pippin are more laid back and sleepy now
puting the next part in spoiler since it could be described as... gory.. part of why I think I'll wait on getting a new rattie and an update on Pippin
Spoiler
but I'm going to wait mainly because the same night Pippin came home from the vet about the infection, so monday night.. Pip tore out her stitches close to midnight and wouldn't leave it alone. I ended up staying up with her all night to keep her from biting at and inside of it.. it was so scary.. got her to the vet, no internal damage, but it turned out she had an abscess in the wound (sort of a lump filled with fluid which may have been causing the rotting smell). and she ended up having to spend the night there last night to keep an eye on her. and now she's on two antibiotics because it became infected worse from her opening it and she's on pain meds again, which should make her super drowsy after taking them to prevent her from picking at the stitches.
it works really well for the healing, like when Lily had her operation she lost TONS of weight, it was scary how thin she got, but the baby food was good since has more to it than the rat food, she got back to her normal weight with it ~even though she's a bit tubby now, which might be an 'after surgery side effect' (she also couldn't eat the solid food for awhile so the soft baby food helped tons)
it doesn't.. I've no idea why, maybe the neighbor turns their fire alarm off or removes the batteries or something. and the hallway could be more.. 'fumes' than smoke. I've no idea though.. :\

Oooh haha I see.
Oh man, other than making her drowsy, I feel like there's nothing to stop her own self from picking it out..;;

I forgot how many things rats can eat lol
Isn't that.. I don't know, illegal? Or at least against the apartment rules?
