I just recently checked my account after being inactive for a few years (I usually just read the forums, never looked at announcements, didn't bother doing anything related with the site for those few years)... It seems like there's an announcement for new cash shop items every time I check it. I also saw wings worth $100... really???
The only thing that even interests me in Gaia anymore is the Fishing Game. I've been questing that Angelic Rod+ for a long time, and I still want to get it.

Wow!! I was on Gai back in 2005-08. I spent sooo much time on there, I went crazy on the puzzles and blackjack.
The last time I logged in was in 08. I had been on hiatus for a while and was at a friends house when I noticed his younger siblings were on Gaia. I asked them if they liked playing and they said yes, so I logged in to my Gaia account, changed the password to something easy, and told them to have at it. So they both got rich, quick! I had spent allot of time on Gaia, spent allot of real money too, so I had new Cash Shop items and old Monthly items. Even had those little black anklewings! I felt good giving it to them though, since I knew those items would go to waste if I kept them.

I used to live on Gaia back in highschool... I think I joined early 2005. But I rarely go on there now.

I've been on Gaia for about 8 years, going on 9. It's a pretty fun website what with the quick-paced forums (I'm sorry but KoK is way too slow), the games (zOMG! anyone?) and all the nice gold items. Although due to what's happening there now, I've started looking around for other avatar based forums (which is why I ran into KoK). I will admit the fact that it's torso only sort of bugs me, but well, it's something I can live with.
Gaia has just become too money hungry and we are now their cash cows. Yet, I still refuse to leave. Perhaps because of nostalgia. And awaiting to see how this site will end up.

Oh, it gets worse. They sold the Angelic Halo for $1000. And some instances items have gone for as much as $500.

I've been a Gaia member since 2004. So if you compute it, I'm more than 10 years now of being a member there. I used to be addicted and super active on Gaia until these terrible hyper inflation happened in the marketplace brought by the new CEO and management of the site. Tons of Random Item Generators were being released everyday and it worsen the current balance of the game's economy right now. Sigh.
I still visit my account there every now and then.
