that's no good :mcgasp:
I guess school stores and malls are known for being a bit pricier :\
are you going home for holiday stuff?

yea, they love doing that (Pippin always squeaks uncomfortably while she's being cleaned, it's so adorable)
they are pretty sharp, luckily rat-skin is pretty tough though too. they're claws are insanely sharp as well, I always get scratched up while handling them (they're claws are so sharp, sometimes you don't feel it until later, like a razor sharpness, usually just scratches no cuts/blood drawn)

sorry the pics are a bit blurry, sometimes it's because they're constantly moving so it makes it hard to get a clear picture, and some are because for some reason when I transfer pics from my phone to my comp the pictures get all weird (not sure why it's doing that)
I'll have some more pics coming up, I got a new cage as an early Christmas gift, it's about as tall as I am (maybe slightly taller) but it's so pretty! (and I've got Meadow and Pippin housed together ~Lily is still doing the healing thing so she's still being separated)

Aw, cute avatar!

Yeah xD
Yep, in fact I'm home right now!

Don't people cut their nails? :o Or is that only for dogs and cats..

I see xD
Oh goodness, that's seriously tall! :o I just thought you owned regular sized cages!
Do send photos!

thanks :mccute:

that's neat! you're probably back at school now though, I was gone a while :mcsweat:

I think I've read that you can cut their nails, but they're so squirmy I'd be worried about nicking their toes/fingers instead of their nails, and they don't cause much of a problem asides a few cuts every now and then (mainly around the neck/shoulder area)

just went to try to upload photos to photobucket, but the site seems to be having issues atm... the cage is called the "Critter Nation Double Unit for Small Animals" if you wanted to look it up (since photobucket is being weird :mcsweat: )

~edit: photobucket seems to be up again! so uploaded some photos of the cage and some new ones of the three of them (Meadow has gotten so much bigger since those first photos I showed you, still super small compared to her big sisters though :mccute: )
http://s826.photobucket.com/user/jadepa ... sort=3&o=3
(in the pic, from top to bottom; Pippin, Lily, Meadow)
there are also two new pics before that one of the three of them snuggling/sleeping, and three other new ones after the cage pic of just them individually :mcglee:

~edit part two.. so.. I found a lump on Pippin today... it's still fairly small, I think? it's in the soft spot between her leg and vulva so it's hard to tell exactly how big it is or if it's loose or attached. I'll find out when I get her to the vet and let you know.

The new hairs, especially the one you have on right now, is so nice~

Haha yeah, it's been... 4? 5? weeks now.

Man, if I had pets, I'd die myself trying to cut their nails. I could barely cut my own. I like having short nails, but I sometimes end up cutting a part of my skin and it bleeds... a lot... ;;;

Oh daaang!! That's a pretty cool looking cage o_o Does it make creaky sounds a lot?
Cute~~

Hm.. o3o;; Hope it's nothing too serious.. It's your first time seeing on any of your rats?

I know right?!

yeah, I kept thinking it had been more like 2 months, but I disappeared shortly before christmas I think? wasn't a very nice time, lots of health stuff acting up.

it's actually really quiet, it's really nice, and there's two big doors on the top and bottom so it's easier to clean or reach in to pet or pick them up *nods*
whereas the last cage had two little doors and in order to clean it you had to completely detach the top from the bottom

Lily had two lumps I had gotten removed in... I think it was early November? (she's doing amazingly well now though). I thought I had told you, maybe I forgot :\
but she had major issues with one of her stitched areas, and that area now is just a little red dot and a pinkish line, and the other scar-area is just a long pink line. she's been so well since the full recovery (sometimes it seems like the scars itch a lot, but that's what scars tend to do)
but first time I've found a bump on Pippin. I really need to get them spayed, prevent any mammary tumors or lumps.
(Meadow is still in the clear for this stuff I think, I've heard you can't get a rat spayed/or shouldn't get a rat spayed, until at least 4 months of age, and she's about... 2.5 months?)

I'm trying to make an avatar with me, but keep failing xD

Well, I hope it's gotten better now :')
Haha xD That's good to hear. From what I remember, cleaning my hamster's cage was such a mess... I had the standard cage :o

You probably told me. One with stitches? :o
The talk went on for so long, I began to forget it started with lumps haha

Goodness, so young;; o_o

it can be hard to make an avatar look like yourself.
with me a lot of clothes I wear in person are more, boyish or androgynous/gender-less, which can be hard on here since a lot of outfits are more feminine or doll-like (that makes the customization fun though, so much neat stuff)

it's been up and down the past week, hoping it keeps up, but it's been pretty bad for the past... since my left lung collapsed in August really :\
how's school and everything going for you?

yea, with when Lily had stitches, she kept taking the ones by her back leg out, took a lot longer for her to heal because of it, they even had to wrap her up in that bandage stuff to keep her from getting to them. but it's all healed up now, which is really good.

yea, Meadow is still a baby, and still so small and has that baby-soft-fur still (and still makes the mistake of trying to pull off my finger instead of taking the treat/carrot out of my hand, which is adorable)

Oh.. hehe, I meant to say *with it*. The hair. It's hard to make avatars with that hair.
Oh, true that. Many of the items here are fantasy-ish. But there exists some plain sleeves! Hard to make avatars with them;;

Yikes :c Don't lose hope though ;o;
School is the same. I thought because the school is nothing really city like, I would study more since there's "nothing to do" I was wrong. So wrong. Internet and sleep is distracting me more than ever. I'm getting the worst grades in my life >>;;;;;;;

Mhm~ :'\ Good to hear C: !

Haha, cute! Is it enough to bleed?

a lot of items seem like that, you find one and go "OMG, that would look great!" then you buy it and it looks weird with everything else you have lol

I've been trying to stay positive, it can be hard to do at times but just one day at a time. was actually really thinking about making a youtube channel, my brother may let me borrow or have his old web-cam/mic, but I can't come up with a name.
XD the internet does that a lot lol
maybe try putting on some soft music like Bach or Mozart or something, I've heard their music helps with studying/learning and such. have you been able to wander the town much? did you get snow there at all, where I'm at keeps getting snow thought it would start going away by now.

no, not enough to bleed, just sort of a firm grasp. hard enough that you can't pull away, but light enough not to pierce the skin, but a lot of the times it's just a light nip at one finger, then she grabs and pulls another finger, then she figures it out and takes her snack. (think she may have trouble vision-wise, I read somewhere that the red-albino type eyes have worse vision than dark eyed ratties, think that may be why she sways when she looks at stuff too ~though it's pretty adorable how she sways when she's staring at things)

SO true xD Then I end up spending more fps trying to make an avatar with it. COUGHLOSTRIBBON

Oh like Steven! c: What kind of channel?
I've tried listening to classical, but it didn't work. Then again I only tried once lol Maybe second.. or third time's the charm!
My go to is Studio Ghibli soundtrack in piano c:
I wouldn't say wander, only because I have poor sense of direction.. but I do go to downtown when necessary. But these days because of the rain, I don't go out :l
We don't get snow here unfortunately >< How long has it been? :o

Oh, haha I see xD
I think I read that somewhere too :o
