My father SA'd me when I was two. Mom took me and left, and he called the cops on her, so while the courts figured crap out, I was placed in Foster Care.

I don't know much about foster care, but I've always thought it must be extremely confusing for a child.
Even if the foster parents are nice, cause if they are scummy then it's way worse than confusing of course.

I got lucky when it came to foster parents. Karen and Gilbert (Mommy Karen and Daddy Gilbert) were a second family to me. Their own kids, Micheal (Sister) and Craig (Brother) were high schoolers. I ADORED Craig! xD he let me play on his drum set and helped teach me to swim.

When I fell ill, they babied the crap out of me. Holidays were always fun with crafts and events. And even after I left them, they kept in contact with us as I grew older. There for us when we needed help. I REALLY got lucky when it came to the foster care system.

And the way CS handed my case made things not so confusing. Visits with mom were set up quite often, I remember one or two of them, and even have a photo of one somewhere. So I always knew who my real mom was and understood I'd be back with her soon.

Since mom had left my dad who was a spousal abuser, she had no where to go. So while I was in foster care, mom was in a place for abused women, getting mental help and getting help to be put on disability. Once she got her life together, she got me back. It was a 14 month hell of a fight, but she got through it. Hated Children Services for i though.


My older sisters were allegedly in foster care at one point or another. They had bad foster families. Mine spoiled the crap outta me, so that's another reason why they hate me. That and the fact mom chose me over them, they hate me.

I'm getting use to those terms myself as the youtubers that read reddit stories, they have to use SA and DA because using the full words trigger people.


There are sooo many terrible ones that only care about that paycheck, so I got super lucky.

I'm sure there are many lovely people who want to be foster parents for the good of children, but the greedy ones who do it only for the paycheck surely do more harm than good v_v

Sadly, that tribe no longer exists.

Karen passed away years ago when I was about 13. That was when Micheal started claiming my mom 'stole' from the family, which as far as I know wasn't true. I knew Karen and Gilbert, and even Grandpa would lend mom money and mom did her best to pay it back. Micheal.. she turned into a grade at B after she became super skinny... =/
Craig, he went into the marines, but he came back kinda distant and mean. But after Micheal's accusation towards mom, everyone but Grandpa started to distance themselves from us.

Grandpa passed when I was about 16, they blamed his death on us.

Mom use to go up and visit him nearly every day. But my sister April, she was living in ohio at the time, up north from us. She would get mom to pet sit their pets for weeks on end.. and thats where mom was when he passed.

I went up once during that time to visit him, but other then that, I kept to my bedroom in our apartment. He was an alcoholic, became one after Grandma passed... apparently he passed out and hit his head and died... And because mom didn't go 'visit' like she normally did (they were acting as if she were a care taker at that point... >:x) they blamed her for his death, she wasn't even home!

Mom and I ran into Seth, Micheal's oldest boy, a few years ago. He recognized us, I knew he looked familiar but damn he got tall and was all grown up. I remember us drawing pokemon together o3o
Gilbert has a motorcycle now and has retired from his construction job.
Dunno about Micheal or Craig.. other than the fact that Micheal gave the crystal animals mom gave Seth, to Seth's younger siblings. =/
