i've never tried them before which is ridiculous. however in my defence i only got a phone of my own a couple of years ago.

anyway, i'm using one called maya and it has tracking for menstrual cycles, ovulation, fertility, and also features for if you're using contraceptives or don't want to conceive. general menstrual and sexual health. so far i'm using it just for my menstrual cycle, and it seems great. i can record my symptoms on each day of the cycle and it'll show me long term patterns. it'll also send me reminders for my next cycles. and general tips about menstrual health.

do you use a period tracking app? how do you find it? has it helped you?

I'm using one for many, many years - it seems like forever for me. I find it really useful for keeping track of my period - how long it lasts, when it starts, when it started the last time and when I should expect it again.

Now I'm on pills, so I don't use most of its functions, but before I've used it to note down all the bad symptoms I had - things like pains and mid-cycle bleeding. Then right before each visit to the doctor I was checking it thoroughly, to find some patterns to discuss during the visit. It would be utterly impossible without such an app.

Why do some people use such a small font size? It hurts my eyes... :mcdead:

I don't track mine, not without an app or not even a calendar. I know that when I start hurting it should come in a week or so and that's enough for me.
Beside it's not like when it starts it starts with huge flows either so I have time to prepare and/or run and buy some if it comes unexpected.

Oh, that is really nice. When I was a teen my period always started with a big, red flood... I don't even want to think about all these things I had to throw out because of that. It was a complete disaster.
Nowadays I still generally have a huge flow, but at least it's starting up a bit slower - sometimes it's small, but sometimes it's still big, so I generally prepare for this day beforehand. Well, now I'm on pills, as I've stated before, so it's much shorter, smaller and less painfull.

You don't track your period? When I go to the doctor, I always get the question when it started the last time, how long it usually lasts and how long is the whole cycle. It would be impossible for me to answer them without tracking.

I'm nearly 50 and I had my lady bits removed for health reasons few years back so I don't need one now that I finally have a smart phone that could run the app.

But from the time I first started my period when I was 10 I always kept track of it on a calendar so I wouldn't be taken by surprise because I had horribly heavy flows and would soak through jeans if I didn't prepare for it. Goodness, I so do not miss that.

Mine is called My Calendar and I love it. I track everything there, and I managed to save the data to my other phone when I changed phones. I find it easy to communicate that to my doctor as well since I have everything noted down.

I know my fitbit app has period tracking features on it but I haven’t used it much. I should use it though because i’m probably going to switch birth control meds soon and I want to track any changes.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

I've been notoriously terrible of keeping track of anything and this is no exception. I've been having a huge lack of motivation so even putting in the base information to such an app seems like such a pain. :mcheh:
