Ive never written on a typewriter. :o

I do all my journaling by hand. I prefer to write stories on the computer though.

Mood: wondering what I want to be when I grow up
*resurrecting for donuts. Sorry*

I prefer to write by hand, but if I'm writing on the computer, I need MS Word. Currently I have OpenNote because I don't want to pay the extortion fees for MS Word, but it just doesn't feel as comfortable.

Generally, I would read what I handwrote into MS Word and then edited from there. I feel a great deal of hostility to editing my written works. It's so much easier to erase/change/move things around in electronic form. I don't know why I'm more protective of the physically written stuff, but I have so many hoarded stories that have never made it to the computer and take up several boxes. I can't bear the idea of throwing them away.

I also have so many save files of stories. I try to get organized, but it's super-boring.

I sometimes write in notebooks, especially when I already have one handy (when I was in school, I'd often flip to the back and jot down some stuff while waiting for the teacher to start class, shhh :qg: ).

On the other hand, most of my serious/longer stuff I do on the computer. Mostly because I do a lot of editing as I go along and often I want to add stuff in the middle of things I've already written, which is difficult in a notebook. :qmeh:

I prefer the keyboard since I can type faster than I can write. :) I do love the feel of a pencil on a paper though, and sometimes ideas do flow faster when I use a pencil. I can do the basic outline on paper, then move to a keyboard.

I prefer keyboards and will only write by hand or with a touchscreen if I absolutely have to. I haven't really written much by hand since I finished school years ago so its honestly kind of hard to write a significant amount on paper now ^^; Plus my wrists are very fragile from injuries. Its just not worth it to do often.

Paper all the way for me. I actually always have to rewrite notes to study sadly .

But, electronics are good when classes go way too fast for me to keep up. Also, profs tend to already have slides and using a touch screen to draw - for example, organic chem reactions - really help.

But in general I way prefer notebook. It may not be as fast, but when I really need to I will use a keyboard but theres a high chance ill rewrite it anyways.

While writing stories, I will always choose to write on my computer, because I can sometimes write a whole chapter and then realize I don't like it. If I'm writing in Microsoft Word or something, I'll be able to simply delete it, but if I wrote it in a notebook, I'd have to tear out a couple of pages. Not only that, but when I'm writing something on a paper, I want it to look good. In school, I have to write as fast as possible and when I come home and look at my notebooks, I get frustrated because of how bad my writing looks. And because I know that if I had more time, I would have written it much better. But, I'm kinda of a perfectionist, so yeah...

I prefer working on the computer because my handwriting is terrible.

I prefer keyboard. I can type pretty fast and I have autocorrect and spell check. My handwriting is really bad and if I have to write for a while, exerting energy over such a small area in such a precise fashion makes my hand cramp up. I have ADHD and have a hard time doing that, where in typing, my fingers are more spaced out and they move more. I often find myself going back over written notes because I realize that letters look weird or messy and I don't want to be stuck in that position where I can't read what I wrote, which has happened to me.

I also prefer a keyboard. I don't type very fast anymore, but it's still better than my atrocious handwriting. Much easier to edit, too.

I learned to type on an IBM Selectric -- the kind with the letters on a ball that you could change out for another one to get a different typeface.
