I've got PMS so bad today.
My period is starting another week early.
I keep going from being irritable to crying to being fine.
I HATE it.

I was supposed to get birth control, but I wussed out.
I'm going to go for it this time xD

Does PMS hit hard for you?

Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

My period's super irregular, so I don't know if I'm a good example.
But I don't really get bad PMS.

I guess sometimes I get a little more emotional,
but I'm always emotionally responsive to things?
Like .... I will always cry for no reason to tv shows, haha.

I tried birth control for a couple months once for medical issues,
but I loathed it because it made me incredibly irritable during my period.
The PMS was insane.
Was not fun.

      YES. I get symptoms a week to a week and a half before my period. It's insane.
      Birth control is scary. I was on it and it fucked me up, but I didn't take it properly.

      Yes, I can definitely tell when my period is coming on, I am much more emotional than usual. ;-;

      My PMS changed significantly over the years, due to the changes in my body, as well as the medication I've taken, including birth control, of course.

      For most of my life PMS used to start even up to two weeks before the actual period. First my breasts started to hurt. And it was gradually becoming more and more painful as the period came closer - the pain was at its maximum few days before the period and lasted 'till the day after the period started passed.
      I was also gradually becoming more and more irritated. And when the period was close, I was even more irritated, because of PMS, but also because of this constant breast pain. Then right before the period started I usually had a burst of sadness and depression. Though sometimes I could have this burst randomly during the whole PMS, especially in a week before the period, so it was also a bad indicator when this day actually will be. And it always varied few days...

      There was time I had nearly no PMS and it was trully a bliss. Lately it looks like it's returned, but it lasts only a week and it's not so bad - meaning my breasts don't hurt so much (but still hurt). Though I'll soon go to the doctor and probably get birth control once again, because he mentioned something like this last time I've visited him. Or some other hormone control. And it'll be a bliss once again... I hope.

      @Fran:
      If you were so irritable during your period, then probably the pills you took weren't right for you. There is a huge variety of pills, their composition can also be very different. But even if it's nearly the same, the way they make each woman feel is totally different. And there is no way to predict it, you have to check some of them yourself and see, which one is the best.
      I've taken few kinds of pills and there were one absolutely horrible for me. Few days after I'd started taking them I became really aggressive. Normally I'm a really calm person and it was the first time I felt something like that. I was trying to control it, but it was getting worse and worse. Eventually I was starting to become afraid I would actually hurt someone because of it and I went back to my doctor. He said to throw it away, even though there were still some pills left. And he gave me different ones to try. Also, when you start to take pills, you should get only one pack, for one month. And then visit your doctor, say how do you feel and then eventually get more or change it. If there's something you're not content with, it's better to complain about it or even bluntly ask for different pills.

      Also... Sorry for the rant :mcsweat:

      I rarely get anything too bad.
      But sometimes it's horrible xD
      I'll snap at everyone and be mean and then I cry because I feel bad.
      I'm usually sweet and an airhead, but PMS kills all of it 8,u

      Arachne: Aww, that sounds horrible ;;

      I find it kind of annoying when it comes to getting feedback for medicines because people vary so much.
      I will look things up to learn about them, and there will be horror stories and stories where the medicine didn't work and it makes me paranoid xD
      I took a sleeping pill for years and apparently it has led to sleepwalking and sleep driving accidents.
      All it did to me was make me loopy and put me to sleep.

      I wanted to try an IUD because I've had friends tell me it worked great for them.
      But I've also seen where women got hurt by them because the copper kind gave them copper poisoning or something or it slipped and hurt them.

      I believe that was the case, yeah.
      Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't want to deal with it anymore,
      so I just stopped taking them after month two and didn't report to the doctor again.
      I'm really bad about check-ups with doctors, because I've kind of ...
      I don't know.
      Conditioned myself, I guess, to avoid it because of the financial burden.
      The last time I went to the doctor they told me I was dehydrated,
      something I could have easily fixed if I just drank more water on my own.
      A waste of time and money to have gone (though it did ease my mind some).

      These are concerns for a different thread, though, heh.

      Maybe someday soon I'll find something that'll actually help me out and not make me feel so low.

          You have no idea! The worst is the first and sometimes second days. I can't survive without meds (serioustly, my worst nightmare is for my period to come and not have meds or a farmacy near me). Than the next days I get all bloted and have pregnant women's cravings.

          About the period before the actual menstruation, I don't go from one emotion to another, I just stick to 1 and only 1 for an entire week. Some months I can't wipe a smile off my face some months I'm not able to laugh at all and feel like crying and some months I feel like screaming at everyone I see...
