(Plus, cuz I need to further justify my unhealthy obsession to myself, I've been able to parlay that obsession into this wonderful thread which has provided me huge catharsis, as well as some pretty good school work--my major is Social Justice and Advocacy, and my advisor suggested I turn my intense focus on political media coverage into an independent study, so, yeah, I may be a little bit crazy but so far it's working out okay..... :qsweat: )

I hate Trump a lot. He's horrible. If he wins the presidency this country is going to complete shit.

I know a lot of people who are going to vote for them. The hilarious thing is a lot of them are poor. I'm like you do know that he's trying to kill you right?

People don't understand what a president can and cannot do. It's very frustrating...

Image I'm sorry to hear that light. Too many people just don't
seem to think about what will be coming if that happens.

Pwale, thank you so much for the reading. I truly wish you the best
of luck with your major and study. I hope it all turns out perfect for you.
And your obsession might be a bit too much for some but to be honest.
I think it's a bit of a good thing. You are completely aware of what is going
on and what will happen and what have happened before.

Your point with Trump's followers... Makes a ton of sense. Never thought
of it that way. But the media has been off for too long now and of
course maybe if they did their job right before we might not have this
mess we called Trump running for president. I just truly hope things
settle down and everyone can get him off the ballot before November
hits. Because with what you explained... I'm a bit scared what might happen
to our own state goverments if he is in office now.

Part of my response is that the GOP only has themselves to blame for Trump. They've been feeding people's ignorance and fear for so long because they knew that if they did that they could convince those people to vote for them. No one MADE them use "state's rights" as a dog whistle for "segregation." No one MADE them use "New York values" as a dog whistle for "Jews and gays."

And when Obama was elected in 2008 and Trump started going on about his birth certificate, no one MADE the GOP embrace Trump full-heartedly because he had just handed them a valuable distraction that, as a political tactic, was both completely unethical and very effective. If the majority of the GOP had said, "Of course Obama was born in the United States, and we're not going to dignify Mr. Trump with a response," then probably none of this would be happening.

But they didn't do that. Instead they called Trump a hero for questioning the president's birth certificate and they invited him to their conferences and on their talk shows and they fawned over him and, in the process, convinced even more of their followers that he was someone to be taken seriously.

Yeah...that was probably a good idea......it's REALLY depressing how much Trump won by, but part of me wonders if by this point people are voting for him just so we can move on to the general. This drawn-out primary fight really isn't helping anyone....

I mean, if you think about it, the primary kinda started a year ago. We've had a WHOLE YEAR for the primary. But we don't get nominees until July. And then the election is in November, so that's 4 months. A year for the primaries and 4 months for the general. In what alternate universe does that make sense?

Man...so Cruz has declared Fiorina as his running mate...that's a risky move, but it's worked for long-shot candidates in the past....

But if Cruz doesn't win in Indiana, he's out.

You have hugged SaltPoisson!

I'm scared. To me, it's similar to if people had a choice in voting for Kim Jong Il... and they are.

There's a milkman waiting in the sky.
He drives a rundown milk truck
