There is a 2.5% fee for conversion.
It's charged in different moments if you've added both currencies to your PayPal account and you have not, but it's the same fee.
* If you only have one currency (for example €):
In the transaction details appears the conversion.
It always includes de the 2.5% fee.
* If you have both currencies (€ and $):
The transaction details would be in $.
When you ask them to convert $ into € they'll charge you a 2.5% fee.
In my humble opinion you should use this option and check from time to time the conversion rate -changes 2 times a day- and make sure to convert it when you get a better rate.
If people from US or any other non-European country pays you in € you won't be charged any fee.
But it may be a bit more confusing for them.
