Oh! McMaster Bujold!
I read some of the books in the Miles Vorkosigan series, and they were really enjoable.
Her style is very easy to read, and those space operas are light and entertaining.

I remember specially Shards of Honor. That "love" story was really a thing.
- I fell in love with you the moment I saw you for the first time.
- I was puking the first time you saw me ¬¬
- Yes, but you did puke with such a dignity!

Or something like that xD

With Terry Pratchett most times Time does not make any sense. So timelines do not have to 8D
I think the only subseries in which there is a certain arch in the characters is the one of the Guards, but that's pretty much it.

Well, I do use GoodReads so for all book reviews and such it's my usual reference.
I don't think there is any beginners guide, but I don't think it's needed either.
I mean, it's just a social media. But with books instead of photos of your breakfast xD

.... I never really understood the social media stuff either though, so that doesn't help....

Yes! Shards of Honor was her very first book ever, too, and that level of polished prose and deep understanding of characters and grasp of plotlines is so darn impressive for a first book

Please PM me if you can help!

If I remember it correctly she released three books of the same series almost at the same time, but each of them was set in a different moment? Before Miles was born, Miles first adventures, and then Miles mature adventures, or something like that.

I think Vorkosigan's timeline is more complicated than Discworld anyway.
Because you would expect it to make sense, and events in one book may explain events in later one.

I tried Goodreads but now I'm posting my reading logs and reviews on my blog instead. I could use Goodreads to track to-be-reads but... I'm still looking for something to track those on. I'm going to try Storygraph.

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

Storygraph is much cuter, but for some reason it felt less practical
At least for me.
But I've heard quite a lot of people left GR and moved into SG.

Event time!

What do you think, is he pet worth it?
I think we need 41 eggs per day to get the full set, so 35 a day would almost do it... if one remembers to collect them of course.
I have bad memory so I'm not really sure I'm ready to pay an FC...

The pet is a cute one to collect, even putting aside event currency, but the value of an :fc: has increased so much of late that I don't know how to judge whether it's worth it. I suppose it depends on how much someone wants the event items.

The pet is cute, and if you collect room items and you like pets for your knuffels I think it's really worth it - it's very unique!

But I am not into knuffel rooms, so for me it's only worth if it helps me get the avatar items.
And after a whole day testing I don't think I'll need help, I'm hopeful I'll be able to collect all the eggs for the event.

That's good then, you can save that FC for MT/TT items :qsml:

I don't think I'll need to get the pet either. I'll be able to collect eggs by browsing around a good deal. And clicking through page after page of the foreign language hangouts when I need to collect eggs quickly.

I just refresh the main page.
It's easy and it lets me see if someone has posted in one of those threads in which I am a regular.

And, yeah, saving up FCs is always good.
I've got a nice amount currently though, cause I just sold a bunch of old items.
I may spend some of them in item which are listed in the marketplace, I'm just thinking carefully about it but I'm almost decided.
